Camps & Rules Our mission: To encourage boys and girls to become Scouts, Venturers, Explorers, or to continue in each of those Units. Crew 1865 has three purposes: Music, Theatre, and History: To encourage boys, Girls, siblings, to join us who have never been in scouting and have no desire to be in scouting but do want to be involved in music as singers, and musicians To be involved in theatre in all it's form To be part of and engaged in Ohio's Rich History and America's rich history. The three Rules that are absolute; " Respect the Unit, Respect yourself, Respect the audience." All other rules can be found online at the Scouting Movement, http://www.scouting.org/; or Simon Kenton Council website. Look under Buckeye district. http://www.scouters.org/ Check the links on the home page they are interactive. You can e-mail any questions through the interactive box found in the lower right hand corner of the home page. Who can join: It is open to Boys, Girls, Siblings, Parents and Folks from other organizations such as Campfire girls, Y, 4-H and so on. The Unit is formed under the guidelines of the Boy Scouts of America and World Scouting Movement There will be a uniform: a simple copy of the Army of the Potomacs Band uniform for " 1865 " Navy blue, " button to the neck," jacket worn over sky blue pants, Black " US " belt, lace up black shoes. We will March under a US Flag Circa 1865, A Unit flag with the 1865 insignia and & Scouting Movement logo There will be Band Camps, theatre camps, and other stuff along with Scout camping programs at Camp Lazarus and other places. Some of the concerts we are thinking of are: Worthington on the green Franklin County fair Ohio State Fair Ohio Folk life Fair The International festival Dublin Irish Festival The Shamrock Club's Irish Reunion at Veterans hall Memorial Day parades Worthington/Clintonville, Veterans Day 4th July Concert Whetstone Park of Roses/ Ohio Village. Just to name a few. There are other places we can perform such as the " Scouts Musical Revue of 100 Years of broadway " (Celebrating the first 100 years of Scouting and leading up to the celebration for the Centenial American of Scouting in 2010. Twi-Lite Camp for Cub Scouts: June 20, 21, 22, 2007. Held at Ohio Village The Theme is : to be Announced:. The Village usually holds it's own week long camps during the Summer months. We are working on a couple of week long live theatre, Film, TV camps for Venture crews, Scouts, Cub Scouts and unit 1865. The basic theme will be to produce a live show using the whole village as the stage. Production Ideas are being worked out as we speak. Again more when developed.
