HALLOWEENEE CAMPOREENEE !!!!! ! PLEASE NOTE ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST BE 14 OR OLDER TO VOLUNTEER AT THE VILLAGE AND MUST ATTEND 0NE OF THE VILLAGE TRAINING SESSION(S) PRIOR TO THE NIGHT OF THE EVENT.! Ohio Historical Society "All Halows Eve" A 19th-century Halloween celebration featuring The Headless Horseman ________________________________________ " ... In the dark shadow of the grove, on the margin of the brook, he beheld something huge, misshapen and towering. It stirred not, but seemed gathered up in the gloom, like some gigantic monster ready to spring upon the traveler ..." ________________________________________ ! You will hear the tale and ... out of the gloom you will see poor ichabod chased across the bridge and just as he thinks he's safe he is .... aaaagh! A Special Offer for Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, & Venturers On October 24th, all area scouts are invited to attend Ohio Historical Society's Halloweeneee-Celebration at Ohio Village. • Admission is $8.00 for Scouts their families and friends. $4/parking fee for nonmembers. ($10.00 if camping overnight) • The Village is also looking for Scouts and Venturer’s (14 & older, Adults too) willing to volunteer in some of the program and/or service areas. Scout/adult volunteers will be given free admission and will earn service hours. (Must attend one Village Training session) Call Village Liason, Mic O'Halloran at 614-848-3988 or email Reddeus2000@yahoo.com to confirm arrangments (no later than October 15). • Volunteers must be at village hotel by 4:30 p.m. Oct. 24th • Food will be available during the event from " T B D ". Drinks served by Worthington Scouts and Crew 999. • No Breakfast is being served for the campover (that may change) • " Stakeless " tents may not be set up until the general public has left. We will then have our street campfire. • Leave the Village by 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 25th. • Leave no trace camping. • In the event of cold or really bad weather, the town hall is available. • Heated restrooms available!!! • (Extends to girl Scouts, AHG, & Campfire USA as well)Contact the Village Liason with any questions. Holloweenneee - Camporeeeneee Activities 5:30 – 9:30 pm Spine tingling stories, Ghost stories by the fire, Dance Walnut fortunes Halloween cookies, Soulcakes/bram brack, Scarecrow relay, apple fortunes Pumpkin moonshines , Tiger size maze, Search for the golden Pumpkin, Silhouettes, Trying on clothes, Widow’s brew, fortunes in wax, Cauldron of fortunes, Epitaphs ( Humor) Pumpkin fortune games, Jack-o-lantern coloring sheets Begging for pennies, Snatching at fate Widow’s vigil, Modern activity tent With lots of crafts (pumkin carving an stuff) Bunnicula (Think about it) Fortune games – 3 luggies, Klondike, Cards, cords, shoes toss and mystery writing Museum of oddities and dancer of mystery, 8 fortune telling tents Village Green games – rolling the hoop, stilts, croquet, street bowling, and stuff new caterer TBD, Hot drinks by Scouts, General store has some snacks and old timey pop. There are no gruesome bloody modern items to give children nightmares. All the activies are family rated safe fun. We want the youth to have fun in a safe enviroment recognizing that for many this may be their very first campout we ask that we all be considerate and courteous. To all interested parties: Please, please, please do a check and/or inspection to make sure that campers are using season rated sleeping bags and tents. Scooby Doo sleepover bags won't be a good idea and summer tents should not be used. Please keep your sleeping bags and "Stakeless " tents in your vehicles. We will not set up the Camp " Streets" until the General Public has left.
