Mission Statement "The purpose of the East High School Alumni Association is to provide scholarships for college bound seniors of East High School. The Association provides financial and human resource assistance to students and programs of East High School, where feasible. The Association receives and disburses funds from annual membership dues, bequests, gifts, grants, individuals, firms, corporations, and other organizations. Any person who has graduated from East High School, attended East High School, or otherwise supports the purpose of the Association shall be eligible for membership in the Association."

Dr. Eugene Sanders (CEO of the CMSD) graced us and said a few words on his way to another event, and we thank him for that.
Mr. Robert Heard (President of the CMSD School Board), along with Mrs. Genorris Heard, former Executive Chair of the EHSAA were in attendance. Mr. Heard also blessed us with words. Of course, we are gracious!
Ward 7 Councilwoman Stephanie Howse brough encouragement to the Association as well. She embraced us and allowed and welcomed us to a long-term relationship with her. Thank you, Ms. Howse; we're looking forward to it!
Our guest speaker, Minister Rufus Webb, Pastor of New Direction Church of God in Christ, really enlightened and challenged the mindsets of all attendees with his thought provoking words of taking back our streets and our youth.
As usual, our Master of Ceremonies, Mr. James Knight, was eloquent, humorous and full of stories and we appreciate him just being him & never saying no.
While Mr. James Pickens did send his most sincere apologies for being unable to attend, he did commit to a membership and a donation to the scholarship fund.
