For additional information: Enid Bonds, Class of 1977 at (216) 862-3050, or Algeria King, Class of 1978 at BLUE BOMBER RADAR Whether it's long-time TV & film star, currently the head of ABC's Seattle Grace hospital; singer and film and stage star, currently on tour in Tyler Perry's latest production; or the newest Dreamgirl (seriously - she's the role of Effie White!), our Blue Bombers are all over the place, doing their thing!
James Pickens, Jr. is Dr. Richard Webber, Chief of Staff at Seattle Grace Hospital. If you're a Grey's Anatomy fan, we need say no more. If you're not an avid fan... WHY NOT?? Dr. Webber..Richard.. Mr. Pickens has been acting for over 20 years and has tens of roles under his belt. He's appeared as a regular on The Practice, The X-Files, Beverly Hills 90210, NYPD Blue, Roseanne, and many more. He also has an impressive film career where he's acted alongside the likes of Denzel Washington, etc...
If you saw "The Marriage Counselor" when it was in Cleveland, then you saw our own Ms. Altrinna Grayson portraying the role of the God-fearing mother of the marriage counselor. Alltrinna has been in the limelight for many years, singing with Bobby Womack, the late Gerald Levert and many others. She's worked with Tommy Davidson most recently. Alltrinna was sought out for the role of TeTe in "The Marriage Counselor", and the show is doing great on the national tour.
The Cleveland Metropolitan School District's All-City Musical, held at Playhouse Square, sold out every performance, and Miss Erin McClendon of the Class of 2008 received standing ovations and rave reviews for her portrayal of Effie White in the CMSD's rendition of Dreamgirls.
We are so very proud of these and every Blue Bomber who is achieving excellence. You believed and you achieved!

The History Channel at East High School 2004 Dinner Dance Recap
The 2003 Scholarship Dinner Dance was a HUGE success! Over 300 guests attended!! Then Cleveland Mayor Jane Campbell graced us with words, as well as Lynette Jackson, of the Mayor's office! Her Honor announced that the East High School gym was slated to open in November! After the ceremony, came the singing of the Alma Mater, then a cheer broke out: "Everywhere we go, people want to know, who we are, so we tell them, we are the Bombers, the Might Mighty Bombers!...." Alum from many various classes donned the event, and a great time was had by all. DJ Tony Slim played all the hits from decade to decade, giving everyone the chance to 'cut the rug'. Many joined the Association and some renewed current memberships.
In the summer of 2003, the East High School Alumni Association thought it would be a good idea to challenge another Alumni Association to a sporting event to raise awareness in the community and money for scholarships. We contacted the East Tech Alumni Association and challenged them to a softball game, where all players and spectators would be asked to bring canned goods, which would be donated in the name of both schools¡¯ Alumni Associations. They never responded. The East Tech Class of 1973 however, did respond, challenging us to
be their opponents in their 3rd Annual Basketball Scholarship Fund Raiser. This is an event sponsored by
the ¡¯73 Scarabs Reunion Committee, and proceeds go to the Athletic Departments of both schools, as
well as scholarships.
Well, the scouting began and the game was on! The game was held on Saturday, March 27, 2004, at East Tech.
To keep things fair, all players were close in age. The event was a great opportunity to reunite with schoolmates and rivals alike! The media was present, there was old-skool music filling the gymnasium, and the game was
great!
The Scarabs outscored the Bombers and gained bragging rights. The final score was 87-73, East Tech. In the three years the Class of ¡¯73 (or, ET73, so their nickname states) has hosted this event, they have remained undefeated. (We¡¯re working on a re-match ¨C more details forthcoming!)
A very special thanks to our own Alfred Drummer, for putting our Alumni Bomb Squad together!
We¡¯d also like to thank the players, without whom, the event was impossible!
We¡¯d also like to thank the East Tech Class of 1973 Reunion Committee for all the hard work put forth to make the event a success, and for their efforts toward continuing education for deserving students.
