The following is from a woman’s viewpoint --

The Jacob’s Mother And child Print

The following is from a woman’s viewpoint --

We had plenty of warning.  For over a hundred years that crazy Noah had begged us to listen.  Yet even when the earth began to tremble and clouds began to fill the sky, we – in our pride – mocked God.  Rain???  Water from the sky?  How ridiculous!  It’s impossible…unscientific!  Even as distant flashes were seen on the horizon, we continued, “Is this the best that Noah’s God can manage?  Hey, Noah!  Did you build that ark because you’re afraid of a light show?”  We were WRONG!  The ground split open, and the sky poured down spouts of water.  Rivers swelled, and the sea began its relentless advance.  Tremendous waves like mountains of foaming water crashed into the coastal areas and bored inland hundreds of miles.  “Where could we run?”  We climbed the mountains, but they sank beneath our feet.  The ground heaved up, sank, and rose again as we made a desperate effort to reach higher ground, but the old ground slipped away from us.  Parents abandoned their children, husbands their wives – anything for an advantage to survive just one more day.  Still, the water came on: in surges and tides.  Some people attempted to lash together crude rafts of driftwood, but it was futile.  The water would not stop.  Our last hope was gone.  Somewhere out on that sea, Noah and his family were safe and dry.  Here I stand, my 2-year-old son clinging to my leg.  Numb to his cry, I watched the next wave rise over the horizon.  I knew this would be our last chance of seeing life.

This fictionalized account may, in truth, have a basis in fact.  Etched in stone a story told by the hardened sands of that long ago time.  The discovery of fossil footprints in the Pennsylvania Mountains would, if verified by continued research, be powerful evidence against evolution and for a recent creation as well as a global flood

Possible human footprints in Pennsylvanian sandstone

What then can we say about This Impression in stone? If they were genuine what traits would make it possible to distinguish from an erosion marks or a carvings? We must say that reports of footprints call for the utmost caution. Many people are imaginative creatures and with a little effort they can see almost anything patterned in worn rocks. Some rocks erode in a curious manner, which could leave depressions much like footprints. However Faked or eroded have features which mark them as such.

1.      Faked tracks are often extremely flat-bottomed, unlike genuine tracks that would be rounded, and irregular, reflecting the shape of the track maker’s foot as the Jacob’s print does.

2.      In fake tracks there is no "mounding" or squish marks, as one would expect from the foot of an animal or person displacing soft mud as it walked. The Jacob’s print does show both mounding and pushup.

3.      The edges of genuine tracks would display curved layering from the pressure of the foot the edges of Fake "tracks" form right angles as if cut or carved. Except for the fractured heel area the edges are smooth and contoured on the Jacob’s print.

4.      On a fake or Erosional “track” there are no underprints on the bottom of the bedding plane as is common in genuine fossil tracks. (For example, genuine fossil bird tracks from localities such as the Green River Shale show underprints. These bird tracks come from an animal considerably smaller and lighter than the supposed maker of these tracks). The Jacob’s print shows underprinting in the fractured heel, which is a different layer of the rock and still preserves the impressions of the heel.

5.      Faked or Erotional “tracks” do not show compression features one can see from the coalified stem impressed in the Jacob’s print.

Perhaps most basic of all though is the fact that the tracks bear much more than a superficial resemblance to the anatomy of human foot as is showed from aspect ratios which fall in the range of normal footprints.  They do not look stylized or cartoon-like or too “perfect”. In short, these are not fakes.
