Most geologists do not accept a global Flood, to understand why we must examine the Origin of modern geologic thought.

Once upon a time there was a medical examiner who was examining a corpse he quickly concluded the man had died of natural causes. The Doctor’s assistant was shocked and asked the Doctor to take another look. The Doctor replied “ it’s evident look he’s a classic case - overweight, three pack a day smoker, high blood pressure, he was on nitro as we can see because he carried the bottle with him. What more do we need?. The assistant replied” but what about the bullet hole in his chest?!”

The practices of modern geology closely parallel the Doctor in the above illustration. Modern geologic science was constructed on the assumption that nature has functioned uniformly and that the rates and process operating in the past are the same as are operating now. Even though the geologists have accepted some catastrophes have occurred they remain fixed in the belief that no process ever drastically altered the overall rate of disposition of sediment or disrupted the flow of” geologic” time. Confident of radiometric dates the new geologist is free to accept even large catastrophes in the course of nature, he remain blissfully unaware of the underling system which was constructed around the uniformitarian principal. Even the dating systems assume the uniformity of process and in particular they do not function as assumed under the conditions of a global flood with mixing magmas rapid hydrothermal emplacement and cooling. The assumed loss of daughter product needed to reset a radiometric clock from an original (seeming old) date never occurred. So what then is the nature of the flood and how did it occur.
