Recruitment

We get many tells on how we do recruiting from potential members, so we're posting this here to answer as many questions up front for people as possible.

What GS is and isn't about -

(1) With a possible FEW exceptions, the level cap for joining GS is level 65. Additionally, there may be some class caps from time to time.

(2) GS is NOT a loot-centric guild. We want to set expectations up front that if your primary interest is in "gearing-up" we are NOT the guild for that. There are many fine guilds on Quellious that can help you out here.

(3) The roll of the members in GS is NOT to get your character his/her epic nor is it to level you up. Though many people within GS group together all the time and we do windfall raids to gather up epic pieces on occasion, it's not our primary focus.

(4) GS raids probably 4 to 5 times a week and we continously try to scale up on the level of difficulty of the mobs. Most people in GS know who everyone else is in the guild by their RL names - so that gives you an idea of what to expect. When raiding, sometimes things go real well and sometimes they don't - be prepared to deal with both.

If you are interested in strictly doing raids and large scale encounters - there are many fine guilds on Quellious that are actively recruiting and can help you out.

If you are still interested in joining....

(1) Make friends with people in GS and spend time with them. The guild, as a general rule of thumb, is no longer doing open invites. Once members of GS get to know you, they will naturally sponsor you for membership into the guild.

Your sponsor will be your contact when we raid so you can join us. The sponsor does NOT make any decision regarding your membership - if you have problems speak to one of the officers. Please do not pester or harass any of the guild members about joining the guild.

(2) You will need to attend roughly 6 to 12 raids before you get tagged. During that time we get a feel for how you play your class and get to know your personality.

(3) You cannot roll on any item drops during this time, nor are you allowed to bring any "friends" with you.

If you are asked by GS to attend a raid for recruiting purposes, please remember this is a recruitment process for you alone, and not friends. We invite you to get to know how you can do in a raid and how to get along with people.

Also, do not give out the raid channel to anyone else as well, the channel is set up so we can work on groups. It gets quite frustrating to find mysterious names in the channel who are not supposed to be in it.

(4) If everything goes right, we tag you at some point down the road. If you bring up any suprises after you joined we reserve the right to undo this step

One final note: Doing (1) and (2) doesn't meant that (4) will happen. In fact, we do turn a number of people away and it is surprising to hear many people thought that by simply attending a few raids they thought they would be tagged automatically. This is NOT the case, so be prepared otherwise.

Monk OPEN (Medium) - Rapid Feign, Defensive AA's(Sensei) - 65

Necromancer - OPEN (Medium) - Sage Title - 65

Paladin - OPEN (Medium) - Defensive AA's(ND3, CA3 etc..) - 65

Ranger - OPEN (Medium) - Hunter Title(EQ and AM3) - 65

Rogue - OPEN (Medium) - SoS and Escape - 65

Shaman - OPEN (Medium) - MGB - 65

Shadowknight - OPEN (Medium) - Defensive AA's(ND3, CA3 etc..) - 65

Warrior - OPEN (Medium) - Defensive and HP AA's(ND3, CA3, LR5, PE, PD3) - 65

Keys

VT Key: Must have AT LEAST 4 Shards Completed
Emperor Key: Completed or all but Insignia obtained

Other Considerations

(a)Most of our raids begin at or around 6PST(9EST) and last to around 9PST(Midnight-EST). Depending on what is planned for the evening we may or may not end at this time. Sometimes raids last much longer and can also only take maybe an hour or so.

(b)Now that we are beginning to do things that are a higher tier status and that most of our members already have their epic, we are trying to put epic raids etc..aside and work towards bigger goals. This does not mean that you will not recieve your epic period, just that you will have to be patient because it isn't a top priority at the time.
