Our Instructors Dave Pence All Ohio All Star 1974. 4 year award winner at Ohio University (Division I). Coached High School baseball since 1978. Coached Regional & State High School tournaments. Coached travel baseball for 10 years. Marci Ridenbaugh Marci was a 4-year letter winner at Kent State University. Over her career at KSU, she was an All American, Academic All American and two time selection to the All MAC first team. She currently holds Kent's record for at bats and stolen bases, while ranking in the top five in hits, runs scored, batting average and total bases. Marci has coached softball at both the high school and college level. Presently, Marci resides in Stow and is a math teacher at Solon High School. Brian Donohew Brian is in his third season with the University of Akron, having been hired by head coach Pat Bangtson in August 2005. Donohew, who serves as Bangtson’s top assistant, had spent the previous three seasons as the pitching coach with Cleveland State University. Before coaching at Cleveland State, he worked with the pitching staff at Kent State as a volunteer assistant coach during the 2001-02 season, helping KSU to the Mid-American Conference Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. From 1997-2001, Brian served as head coach at IUPUI and was instrumental in advancing the program from Division II to the Division I level. He guided the team to the school’s only Mid-Continent Conference Tournament appearance in 1998 before the school dropped the program in 2001. Brian also served as an assistant coach at Mount Union from 1993-95. As a shortstop, outfielder and pitcher at Georgetown (Ky.) College, he was named the 1988 Area 7 MVP while guiding the team to a fifth-place finish in their first and only NAIA World Series appearance. |
