PASTORS MICHAEL & SANDRA GOMES
- In His Image Ministries was founded by Rev. Sandra Gomes. She is married to Pastor Michael Gomes and resides in Toronto, Canada with their children.
- Rev. Sandra Gomes gave her life to the Lord at the age of 17 in 1977 in Kitchener, Ontario. She returned to Guyana, South America where she worked as one of the Youth Leaders, with Pastor Gomes as the President of the Youth Ministry. She was also involved in the Worship Ministry and was a Cell Group Leader at the First Assembly of God Church in Georgetown.
- Pastors M. & S. Gomes migrated with their family to Trinidad in 1995 where they pastored Trinidad Totallife Ministries{Beetham}. They were ordained with Kingsway Fellowship International, U.S.A. Rev. Sandra attended the Caribbean Mission Bible College and Theological Seminary. She is currently working on her Bachelor's Degree.
- She is a Bible Teacher and functions strongly in Worship Ministry through Dance, Song and Flagging. Her heart is to see the Body of Christ truly be formed in His Image and Likeness;"And as we have bourne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man"{1 Cor.15:49}. to see us walk as more than conquerors in the earth. When asked if she had only one message to preach, what would it be, she said "HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD without which no man shall see God." The Lord said, "By those who come near Me, I must be regarded as holy; and before all the people, I must be glorified."{Lev.10:2}
- Her driving passion, however, is Missions. "I lay my life down for Him" she says. "God's heart is for the broken and the downtrodden. Jesus said,"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."{Luke 4:18,19}"My heart has always been broken for the nations. Even on my wedding day, 23 years ago, the hymn I and my husband chose was 'I will go where You want me to go, dear Lord, I will do what You want me to do...' "What else can I live for but to fulfill what is in the heart of my Heavenly Father, who commissioned us to "Go into all the world and preach..."{Mark 16:15-18}
- In His Image Ministries has been birthed here in Canada. The theme scripture for this ministry is Genesis 1;26,27. "I just want to do my part in helping to edify the saints. We know that God is building His Church. He is the Chief Contractor and we are workers together with Him - builders with Him." "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory just as by the Spirit of the Lord."{2 Cor.3:18}. "When we turn to the Lord our hearts are no longer veiled; the veil is taken away. We should labour in His vineyard so that hearts could be unveiled and be transformed into His Image."AMEN
- It may not be on the mountain;s height, Or over the stormy sea
- It may not be at the battle's front my Lord will have need of me
- But if by a still, small voice He calls to paths I do not know
- I'll answer, dear Lord, with my hand in Thine, I'll go where You want me to go
- Perhaps today there are loving words which Jesus would have me speak
- There may be now, in the paths of sin some wand'rer whom I should seek
- O Saviour, If Thou wilt be my guide, tho' dark and rugged the way
- My voice shall echo the message sweet, I'll say what you want me to say
- There's surely somewhere a lowly place in earth's harvest fields so wide
- Where I may labor thro' life's short day for Jesus, the Crucified
- So trusting my all into Thy care, I know Thou lovest me!
- I'll do Thy will with a heart sincere. I'll be what You want me to be
- I'll go where You want me to go, dear Lord, O'er mountain, or plain, or sea;
- I'll say what You want me to say, dear Lord, I'll be what you want me to be.
