lwv.jpgLEAGUE PUBLISHES 2016 VOTER INFORMATION GUIDE          

A 2016 Voter Information Guide for the November general election will be available the first week of October. League members will be working to distribute 10,000 copies of this Guide to all Trumbull County libraries, senior centers, high schools and area businesses.

This nonpartisan informational guide contains candidate responses to questions posed by the national, state and local leagues. All candidates for each respective office are asked the same fair, balanced and nonpartisan questions. There are no State issues on the ballot for this election. However, the guide will contain information on local questions & issues and local options.

The League encourages voters to become informed voters. This voter guide is published as a service to the local community. The inclusion of any and all candidates in the League’s voter guide is not an endorsement of any candidate or political party. The voter guide is funded solely by community donations from individuals and organizations.

 
IMPORTANT ELECTION DATES 

All voters must be registered by October 11, 2016 by 9:00 p.m. to vote in the November 8, 2016.

Voters may cast an absentee ballot in person at the Trumbull County Board of Elections Office: 2947 Youngstown Rd SE, Warren, Ohio. Regular Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 pm.

The Board of Elections will observe the following additional hours for in office absentee voting:

  • 8 am to 5 pm – Wednesday, October 12, 2016 – Friday, October 14, 2016

  • 8 am to 5 pm – Monday, October 17, 2016 to Friday, October 21, 2016

  • 8 am to 6 pm – Monday, October 24, 2016 to Friday, October 28, 2016

  • 8 am to 5 pm – Saturday, October 29, 2016

  • 1 pm to 5 pm - Sunday, October 30, 2016

  • 8 am to 7 pm – Monday, October 31, 2016 to Friday, November 4, 2016

  • 8 am to 4 pm – Saturday, November 5, 2016

  • 1 pm to 5 pm – Sunday, November 6, 2016

  • 8 am to 2 pm – Monday, November 7, 2016

    The deadline for applying for an absentee ballot to be mailed is 12:00 noon Saturday, November 5, 2016.

    In the case of medical emergencies, the absentee ballot request deadline is 3:00p.m. on Election Day, November 8, 2016. All voted ballots must be received in the Board of Elections office by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, November 8, 2016 in order to be counted.

    *For a registered voter to receive an absentee ballot, you must provide:

  • Your birth date and one of the following:

  • Your Ohio driver's license number, or

  • The last four digits of your social security number, or

  • Copy of a current and valid photo identification, a military identification, a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document (other than a voter registration notification mailed by a board of elections) that shows your name and current address.

    LWV of Trumbull County General Information
    The League of Women Voters of Trumbull County is a nonpartisan political organization, which encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

    The League neither supports or opposes any political party or candidate. Membership is open to any person interested in educating oneself in or volunteering oneself in the community as representatives of the League of Women Voters.

     
    All membership meetings are open to the public and meet on the 4th Monday of the month at different locations in the county. All meeting locations and times are published on our website and in all local medias, as well as on our FACEBOOK page at "LWV of Trumbull County, Ohio".

    Your membership in the LWV of Trumbull County automatically gives you membership in the State League (LWV of Ohio) as well as the National League (LWV of the United States).

    Local Affiliations of LWVTC
    The LWV of Trumbull County holds membership in the following local organizations:

    Trumbull County Township Association - Local government organization which is a part of the Ohio Township Association, a statewide organization dedicated to promoting and preserving township government in Ohio, through lobbying efforts and educational forums. The Association was founded on June 28, 1928, and is organized in 87 Ohio counties. The OTA has more than 5,200 active members, made up of trustees and fiscal officers from Ohio's 1,308 townships, and more than 4,000 associate members. comprised of township trustees, fiscal officers and various supporters.

    GFWC Warren City Federation of Women's Clubs - The purpose of the Warren City Federation of Women's Clubs is to promote civic welfare through united club efforts and to afford facilities for helpful interchange of ideas and club programs, and to perpetuate and to advance the work of the Ohio Federation of Women's Clubs and General Federation of Women's Clubs.

    Member Clubs include: Altrusa, American Association of University Women - Trumbull County, American Sewing Guild - Niles Chapter,Fifth Wheel, League of Women Voters of Trumbull County, St. Joseph Health Center Auxiliary, Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary, Trumbull County Federation of Democratic Women, Trumbull Mobile Meals, Trumbull New Theater Women's Committee, Trumbull Travel Club, Warren Auxiliary VFW 1090, Warren Civic League, GFWC OHIO Warren Junior Women's League, Warren Republican Women's Club, Warren Women's Club and Upton Association.

    Trumbull County Federation of Women's Clubs

    The object of this organization shall be to bring the Women’s Organizations of the county into closer touch with one another for the furtherance of any good cause, which may be of common interest. Member clubs are: Altrusa International; Fowler Civic Club, Kinsman Bay View Club, LWV of Trumbull County, Masury-Brookfield Women’s Club, Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, TNT Women’s Committee, Trumbull Co. Federation of Democratic Women, The Upton Association, GFWC Warren City Federation of Women’s Clubs, GFWC Ohio Warren Jr. Women’s League, Warren Republican Women’s Club, and Warren Women’s Club
