Women's Equality Day was celebrated at the Warren Women's Park on August 26, 2009 at Noon.

Co-sponsors for the event were: League of Women Voters of Trumbull County, the Upton Association, Warren Junior Women's League/GFWC, and Warren Civic League.

PROGRAM:

Color Guard presented by the U.S. Army, Warren Recruiting Office

Mayor Welcome: Unfortunately Mayor Michael O'Brien was not able to attend and Douglas Franklin, Warren Safety Director presented Resolutions from the City of Warren to the Co-sponsors

Keynote Speaker: Sonja Williams, First Lady of Youngstown

Presentation: Sally Thomas from the Sutliff Museum gave a narrative of Phoeb Sutliff

Musical Entertainment: Melanie Vlad and the First Presbyterian Church of Warren Bell Ensemble.

Refreshments were available in the Kinsman House after the program courtesy of WJWL/GFWC and Warren Civic League.

Purple Ribbons in honor of the day were made by the Warren Juniorettes.
