        About our Officers



        Chief:

        McDonald Police Chief, Lou M. Ronghi is a Niles Native; he started with the McDonald Police Department in 1995 as a part-time Police Officer he then was hired as a full time Patrolman in 1996 under the Universal Cops Grant, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2001 serving under Chief of Police Alan Deluga. He was then Promoted to Chief of Police in 2002 to present.

        As Chief of Police his duties entail overseeing day to day operations of the McDonald Police Department, responding to calls for service and actively seek additional funding (Grants)for the McDonald Police Department.


        Lieutenant:

        McDonald Police Lieutenant, Bill Woodley has served with the McDonald Police Department since 1998. Lieutenant Woodley started as a Part-time Patrolman and has since served as a full time Patrolman, Detective, Detective Sergeant and was promoted in 2002 to the rank of Lieutenant.

        As Lieutenant of Police he is second in command of the Police Departement. He assists the Chief of Police with the day to day operations and administrative portions of the Police Department. As well as oversees and conducts criminal investigations filed with the McDonald Police Department, conducts annual training requirements and responds to calls for service.



        Patrolman:

        McDonald Police Department Patrolmen consist of three full time officers and seven part-time officers. Part-time Officers are required to meet the same high standards and training as a Full time Officer. They are also empowered with the same legal authority, powers of arrest and duties as a full time officer.

        Patrolman responded to emergency and non-emergency calls from the community. They enforce criminal and traffic laws; as well as conducts both criminal and traffic investigations.
