Senior Watch Program:

Program members or clients can sign up for the programs by filling out an application. This application can be obtained at the Village Municipal Building, Police or Fire Departments. The application asks for pertinent information and requests the client to choose which program they would like to be enrolled in. The least intrusive programs are the "Check in" and "Ederly Call" and the most comprehensive is the "Senior Watch".

Residential Security Checks:

The McDonald Police Department offer security checks for citizens and business owners. If you are going on a vacation or going to be out of town for an extended length of time contact the the Municipal Office during business hours Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and request a security check at your residence. Officers will then be instructed of the Security Check at your residence and will periodically check your residence to ensure that it is secure during their shifts.

Please provide the following information when calling and requesting a security check:

  • Date of departure
  • Date of return
  • Contact information /key holder
  • Vehicles left at the reisence
  • If lights are on /off or on a timers
  • Alarms systems present / Alarm company

Finger Printing

The Police Department also offers finger Printing free for the citizens of McDonald for employment purposes.

Bicycle Rodeo

  • A fun and safe way for the kids to learn about bicycle safety
  • Learn the rules of the road.
  • Interact with Police Officers.
  • Test their ability to operate a bicycle safely.

Helmet Smart Program

  • Children aged 14 and under are vulnerable to head injury while riding thier bikes. This remains true regardless of how responsible and careful the child is when riding their bicycles. Helmets have been shown to reduce the risk of injury by 85%.
  • Officers will issue a Safety Citation when they witness a bicyclist wearing a safety helmet. The citation can be redeemed for discounted tickets for a free treat from Domino'S Pizza. The bearer of the citation is also eligible for a drawing for bicycles from AAA and free tickets to Geauga Lake & Wildwater Kingdom throughout the summer.
