This Project is on HOLD at the Moment
WOMEN AT WORK
Women at Work Brainstorming Meeting
The board is very excited to get the word out about AAUW and everything it stands for. Please join us in discussing the possibilities involved with this project by meeting at Katie McNeil's home on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 7:00pm. With a little help from everyone this could become a very successful and rewarding project.

An AAUW Middletown Project
Project Overview:
Develop a one time supplemental insert to place in one or more local newspapers.
Advertising will be sold to area businesses and women's programs to pay for the insert. The insert will highlight different women and their jobs. Branch members will help with pictures and writing of the features.
Extra copies of this insert will be printed and distributed to educational centers for young (or not so young) women so that they may learn about different careers and know who to contact to learn more.

If an advertiser wants to write an article they can cover questions such as how did the individual become interested in the career, what gender barriers did they have to overcome, and/or what training is required for this career.
Goals of the Insert:

  • Raise money for scholarships
  • Raise career awareness for women
  • Raise awareness of pay equity concerns
  • Promote the AAUW mission and local branch activities such as the Used Book Sale
