The Oregon Senior Center is an excellent example of the warm community spirit alive in Oregon-On-the-Bay. The Senior Center was incorporated as a nonprofit agency in March 1995 to support senior citizens' independence and to encourage their involvement in the community. There was a time in our country when seniors were forgotten and their many talents were unrecognized. Today, we value their experience and talents. We celebrate their unique place in our lives. The Center provides referrals, education, transportation, socialization, and many other activities for older adults in Oregon. The Oregon Senior Center is the heart of our senior community. It is a place where friendships flourish, minds and bodies are nourished, and spirits are nurtured. May I extend a sincere invitation to all seniors. May I encourage community members to support our seasoned citizens, whose commitment to the future generations, have made life better.

Nutrition
donation to anyone 60 or older. Younger spouses are welcome to attend. Advanced reservations are A nutritious, hot lunch is served Monday - Friday at 11:30 am. These meals are available for a small required to assure that there will be a lunch for everyone. Reservations must be made by calling (419) 693-2082.

Health Screenings
Health assessments and services are performed by area health care providers such as hospitals and various nursing homes on a regular basis. • Blood sugar testing • Blood Pressure checks • Flu shots • Cholesterol testing

Outreach
A monthly newsletter is published to keep the community informed about what is going on at the center. Weekly activities and special events are also published in the local papers. The center welcomes opportunities to speak to area clubs and organizations about our program and services.

Socialization & Recreation:... Coffee Hour Exercise Entertainment Potlucks Day Trips Walking Club Bingo

Transportation
This service consists of transporting Seniors to and from the center for daily activities and lunch. A small donation will be asked to help offset the cost of maintaining the vehicle. The van is also available, by appointment for shopping, physician appointments banking, etc.

Volunteer Opportunities Without volunteers the Center could not operate. Volunteer opportunities include: • Answering Phones • Greeting New Members Assisting with daily Nutrition Program • Assemble Monthly Newsletter • Fund raising Activities
