May 9-11 Rappelling at Hocking State Forest (camp at Hocking Hills State Park)

Clothing Notes: Sturdy Leather gloves that fit well to avoid rope burns. Leather work gloves work best and are relatively inexpensive. Write your name in both gloves. Avoid baggy or loose clothing because it can get caught in ropes and cause serious injury. A minimum of a t-shirt (snug, not loose) tucked into a pair of jeans or hiking pants is recommended to avoid scrapes against the rock faces. Empty everything out of your pockets. Remove jewelery including necklaces, rings, and watches. Tie up all long hair. It may be extremely painful if it gets caught in the ropes. Sturdy hiking boots and ankle-height ones if you have ankle problems. If you are climbing, then also bring a pair of running shoes for climbing.
