SUICIDE STATISTICS:

1. In the last 45 yrs suicide rates have increased by 60%.
2. Suicide is the third leading cause of death of ages 15-24.
3.More people die from suicide than homicide.
4. Males are 4 times likely to die from suicide than females.
5. However, females are more likely to attempt than males.

Myth:
People who talk about suicide won't do it.
Fact:
Studies have found that more than 75% of all completed suicides did things prior to their deaths to indicate they were in deep despair.
Myth:
Anyone who tries to kill themselves has to be crazy.
Fact:
the absence of craziness does not mean the absence of suicide risk.
Myth:
If someone is going to kill themselves nothing is going to stop them. Fact:
The fact that a person is still alive is proof that part of that person wants to live
