We were invited to join with the Hadley Hatters and the Red Vibes on Wednesday, April 18, 2007, to celebrate the birthday of the Red Hat Society

Here are a few ladies from the Hadley Hatters. Notice the lady with the red top - her hat is made from a BRA. It was so cute.

RED HAT FABULOUS 50'S AT YANKEE LAKE BALLROOM - 4/22/2007
Betty & Priscilla in their full poodle shirt regalia for the Fabulous 50's

The doors opened at 10:30am. So I thought I'd take a picture of some of the ladies in line. Once they opened the doors things moved along rather quickly. We signed in and received a bag with a Red Hat pen inside and literature from several places. We then found out which table we were to sit at. We were just about in the middle of the tables with lots more room this year.

This is the stage they had set up, where the performers did their things and all announcements were made.

A view of some of the crowd. There were 700 Ladies there this year. I don't think I saw two ladies dressed alike.

Betty & Darlene - Aren't they cute!!

When the 50's music got started, so did the dancing.

Some of the people up on the stage singing.

Here is Queen Barbara Tidwell, she is the Queen of the Border Queens that put this all together.

We just had to have a picture with this gentleman. He was with the one vendor, Royal Splendors from CO. His jacket and hat were covered with sequins. On his back it had RHS in the design. Very inpressive.

Here he is with a full view of his jacket.

What do you think? Should I concider becoming a blonde??

Here we are, Darlene, Priscilla & Betty, in front of the display as you walked in.

Wanna go for a ride? Priscilla, Betty & Darlene as we get ready to cruise on outta there. We had a GREAT TIME!!
May 5, 2007 -Jamestown Spring Fling
What a great time we had. We started out at Elizabeth Jane's for breakfast, where we were all surprised with gifts from our Vice Queen Mary. Last month was her birthday, so she decided to give everyone a birthday gift. What fun!! After enjoying a wonderful breakfast we headed off to Abigail's Attic where many treasures were found. Then off to Myrna's Flowers where more wonderful things were purchaced. Next to Jamestown Soap Works, we love this place, next month we have a Happy Feet scheduled there. Then off to a favorite antique place out in the country. We finished off our day with a relaxing lunch at Mark Twains.

Outside Abigail's Attic I found a lilac tree in bloom, my favorite flower.
AMISH DAY OUTING
June 21st 6 of the Lady Jewels joined the Red Vibes for an Amish Day. Here we all are out under the spreading Maple tree in the front yard of the Byler home where we had a delicious lunch.

Here are a couple views of all the ladies seated, waiting for the wonderful food, which included a plate salad, homemade bread, mashed potatoes & gravy, creamed peas, homemade noodles, fried chicken, roast beef and 3 kinds of pie for dessert - Coconut Macaroon, Strawberry & a Custard Pumpkin. YUMMMMMMMMY!!

Another view of the room.

A shot of the Queen's Mum.

Here I am beside one of the beautiful hanging plants that were at the last stop we made for the day.

This was a gorgeous basket, that I kid you not, was at least 4 feet across. I never saw one that large in my life. They sure know how to grow them.

Darlene's Surprise Shower - August 30, 2007 at Jamestown SoapWorks - Happy Feet
Darlene's first task was to open a cute hat that Mary found online.

So we made her change hats for the evening. She was no longer a red hatter but a Bride to Be hatter. It was in Pink and Lavender and had flowers all over it. She was cute.

A closer look at the hat, with an expression I couldn't resist.

Here Darlene was admiring the cute tea sandwiches that we enjoyed as part of our dinner.

Here is a closer look after some plates were filled.

Here is Darlene having to cut her own cake and pass it out.

Darlene shows off the card that Kathe made for her. It was so cute.

What's that on your leg Darlene? Are you going to wear it on your wedding day?

Here is the whole group, minus Mary and her Daughter Mariah took the picture for us. All those Happy Faces with Happy Feet - Darlene, the bride to be in front, with Phyllis Smith, Kathe Wilson, Betty Bell & Grace Hileman behind her and then Melissa Sprouse, Priscilla Sharp and Phyllis Sanford in the last row. It got pretty dark before we realized it.
September 15, 2007 - Darlene & Harley's Wedding.jpg)
The church was beautifully decorated with Red, Purple, white lights and candles.

We Red & Pink Hatters had to sit on the ends of the pews so that we could make our Hat Arch at the end of the ceremony.
.jpg)
Here Darlene is standing at the front of the church with her brother who had walked her down the aisle. They were waiting as Harley finished his song that he sang to Darlene as she walked down that aisle. It was so moving.

Darlene & Harley taking their vows.

After Harley kissed the bride, as they turned to walk back down the aisle as man and wife, we stood and made our Hat Arch.

I thought the Hat Arch turned out very nice.

Here is Diane Ochs, Betty Bell, Melissa Sprouse and Phyllis Smith having a nice chat while we all waited for the newlyweds to come out of the church.

I think I'm offering Grace another boa to help keep her warm. It was quite chilly and kept sprinkling on us as we all chatted and waited.

Here I am with Mom who was freezing. Phyllis Smith's husband Keith offered Mom his jacket which she gladly accepted.

An unexpected visitor to the wedding.

Melissa and I taking a photo opt.

Here we all are as the newlyweds come out of the church.

Here are Darlene's nieces, Kelsey & Shannon, enjoying themselves as they relax after the wedding. Kelsey & Shannon stood up with Newlyweds. Note all the Red Hat bears and animals going up the stairs and Hats and boas to decorated too.

Time to sit and relax and enjoy the food.

Decorations in the background with wedding goers waiting their turn to hit the food tables.
Wednesday, October 24, 2007 - O.C. Hotel & Cantina - Greenville, PA
We had a room full of Red Hatters at the O.C. Hotel. I know there were at least 4 different Red Hat groups there. We had a great dinner and then were entertained by Renata Toth and Maryann Marshall.

Here is Maryann Marshall singing a popular country song.

Here is Grace Hileman, Betty Bell & Priscilla Sharp - My cousin, my Mom and myself.

Our project for the afternoon was a perpetual birthday calendar. We stamped different designs on each month. They are very unique and I think everyones turned out very nice.

Sunday, November 11, 2007 - Gorant Open House for us RED HATTERSWe were invited to a special view of the brand new Niles Gorant Hallmark store. We had a wonderful time. Samples of all kinds of chocolates. We each won a door prize which was about $50 of Hallmark products. Each very lovely. We were given 15% off everything we bought. Special thanks to Ed & Perry for inviting us to see their wonderful new store.
After we left the Hallmark store we stopped at Perkins to have a dessert together. We had a nice time. No pictures were taken today. I should have tried harder. It's probably our last get together this year. Most of the ladies have lots of things scheduled for December, so we will have our Christmas party in January like we did this past year.
It was a great 2007 - THANKS FOR ALL THE FUN TIMES AND THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!
