Traveling around is a great way to meet other Red Hatter's.

I go down to WV about every 6 weeks. This last time I had taken my Pink hat and clothes to wear so that my Mother in Law and I could go out on a Red Hat outing. Well, this time, my husband suggested that I try and contact some of the area Queen's to see if anyone could join us. I thought that was a good idea and did so, and I'm so glad I did. The Queen of the Red Hat Posse, Weston, WV called me. She couldn't meet with us the day we were going out but she contacted one of her ladies and she was willing to come meet us. So I called her and we made arrangements. Then when we got there we had a surprise of another lady from the group. It was great. Here we are at the Peking Buffet in Weston, WV. Ruth Tacy, Linda Armstrong, Mary Sharp in front and Mary Byrd and myself, Priscilla Sharp in back. I plan on contacting them the next time I head that direction.

What a great way to meet other Red Hatters.

This is Ruth Tacy, Sister in Law to Mary Sharp, my Mother in Law

Mary Sharp and Priscilla Sharp after a great evening of Red Hatting.

RED HAT SISTERS

After a 16 month separation, I traveled to see my dear sister Nancy (QMB-DaisySue) Last time we saw each other was right before my husband Dennis went into the hospital in November 2005

Nancy, Precious and Priscilla. Precious had to come meet Nancy, she was dressed in her Red Hat sweater, so she wanted her picture taken too

Nancy saw my new business, LOL, so I thought I'd take a picture LOL

My last visit to WV I had the honor of meeting Queen Barbara Hinkle and her Mom & Vice Queen Catherine Phillips of The Strawberry Tarts of Buckhannon, WV. Here is Catherine Phillips, Mary Sharp & Barbara Hinkle outside CJ Maggies where we met for lunch on April 6, 2007.

Here we are inside after our wonderful afternoon together. What a pleasure it was to meet them. Hopefully we can do it again. This is Catherine, Barbara, Mary and Priscilla

Check out his hat ladies!! He was in a group that were in the WV Strawberry Festival Parade on May 19, 2007 - Anyone want to make one like that?

Also in the Parade at the Strawberry Festival, there was a Red Hat float. This group is from Rock Cave, WV, which is about 20 miles from Buckhannon. They won First Place in the Amateur division. I thought they did very well. There group, as you can see, is called Almost Heaven's Red Hatters.

On Monday, May 21st, I met with some of the Strawberry Tarts again. This time the Queen and Vice Queen brought a couple other members. We had a wonderful time.

From L-R Terry Beer, Mary Sharp, Queen Priscilla Sharp, Queen Barbara Hinkle, Judy Beer & Vice Queen Catherine Phillips. We met at CJ Maggies again this visit. They have very good food.

August 1, 2007 - Elyria, Ohio - Golden Corral

Another great visit with my dear friend Nancy (QMB - DaisySue)I'm so thankful to have such a great friend, all thanks to the Red Hat Society.

Dennis was all dressed in red and purple too. Here he is with Nancy. As you can see my hubby supports me in my Red Hatting FUN

September 21, 2007 Elyria, OH - Golden Corral

Here we are again in Elyria at the Golden Corral. Nancy brought Queen Georgeann to share the afternoon with us. We had a great visit and planned to do it again real soon.

Do I smell Chicken???

Thursday, September 27, 2007 - Sir Charles Inn

While I was down in WV the Strawberry Tarts had a get together at Sir Charles Inn, in Buckhannon, WV. It was very nice. There were 16 there for dinner, but they started leaving and by the time we got the picture taken there were only 10 of us left. I took some pictures of the Jewels adventures the last couple years and then took 4 hats to share. They seemed to like them. We are going to have a Hat Making Party down there with their group in March.

This is Barbara Hinkle, the Queen of the Strawberry Tarts. Here she tried on my purple hat I had taken to share.

This is my Red Hat Quilt that just got finished. We started it back in the spring. It's beautiful.

Here is a close up view of the quilt. I had been buying Red Hat material whenever I saw it, ever since I joined the RHS. Hadn't done a whole lot with it, so when we started this, it was just going to be a lap blanket at first. I didn't think I wanted to try a huge bed size quilt. But as more and more squares got done I said, well, lets go for it. My Mother-in-Law, Mary Sharp did a whole lot of work on it. So this last visit down to WV it was ready to be put on the quilt frame. So we did that and worked on getting it knotted and then put the binding on. Can't wait for you all to see it in person.

Tuesday, October 9, 2007 - Golden Corral - Elyria, OH

Nancy and I each brought someone new to our lunch date. Here is my Mom, Betty Bell, Myself, Nancy, and Judy (Nancy's Sister)

Monday, October 29, 2007 - Hartville, OH

Here we are - Priscilla - Queen Ruby DeLite of the Jewels of DeLite, Georgeann - Queen Qypsy Rose of the RamBLING Roses & Nancy - Duchess Daisysue, Vice Queen Dusty Rose of the RamBLING Roses. We met at the Hartville Fleamarket at 10am, had a quick breakfast and this is us just before we started shopping. What a fun day we had. We closed the place. They kicked us out at 5pm.

We took a break from shopping to eat a wonderful lunch at the Hartville Kitchen. Here is Nancy, Georgeann, Priscilla and Dennis my husband. He enjoys chauffeuring me around and note he has his red Marines cap on to blend in with all our Red and Purple.

Here we are out near the fireplace in the Hartville Kitchen.

Here is my sweetie and me in front of the fireplace. We had such a good day and we are already planning our next outing.

January 9, 2008 - Nancy & I met again for a bit of fun. Here we are after filling our bellies at the Golden Coral in Elyria. We are each holding a WebKinz

Then here we are just US. It was a cold day. Brrrr

March 26, 2008 - Here is Dennis and Nancy after coming out of Golden Corral. Notice the Baggie - It has now become a joke between the two of them of who can get more in their baggie. LOL Nancy's was still in her purse.

Here is the Birthday Girl in her new hat that I designed for her. She saw mine and ordered one of her own. Doesn't she look BEAUTIFUL!!

Then here we are together. We had a great time together, as we always do.

Saturday, March 29, 2008

Here is my Mother-in-Law, Mary Sharp. We were at the Fellowship hall of the Way of Holiness Church in Buckhannon, WV. We were there for a Hat Making Party for the Strawberry Tarts. Notice Mom's oxygen tank dressed up like a little Red Hatter.

Here is another view of Mom and her oxygen tank. Now you can see the little shoes on her girl.

Here is Barbara Hinkle, the Queen of the Strawberry Tarts and her Vice Queen and Mother, Catherine Phillips. They are working on their hats.

Here is Catherine and myself working on Catherine's hat.

Here are Catherine and Barbara with their newly decorated hats on.

CATHEDRAL BUFFET - TUESDAY, MAY 13, 2008

After a very nice lunch we decided to take some pictures. Here is Georgeann, Queen of the Rambling Roses, myself - Priscilla Sharp, Queen of the Jewels of DeLite and Nancy Noe, Vice Queen of the Rambling Roses

Just another picture opt inside the buffet. Georgeann, Priscilla & Nancy

This is Dennis & Georgeann. It is her birthday, so we celebrated a little.

Nancy brought a really "Big Doggie Bag" this time. LOL She & Dennis have this thing going back & forth with the bags. So here is Nancy and Dennis after lunch

Hear NO EVIL, See NO EVIL, Speak NO EVIL

My pole dance. LOL

After our fun with pictures in the parking lot of the buffet, we headed out to a near by thrift store where Georgeann & I found some interesting things. Do you think it is me? LOL

Nancy couldn't be out done, she found this black leather outfit with 8" long fringe and a thong to go along. LOL

QUEEN'S COUNCIL - WEDNESDAY, MAY 14, 2008

This beautiful afghan was made by Queen Kathy Jones. The picture doesn't do it justice.

Here is an over view of the room at O'Donolds in Niles. We had a really good turn out, and every hat was different.

Another view of the room. I didn't take too many pictures, what was I thinking. LOL

Look at this adorable Pink Hat Cat. So cute. There was a Red Hat cat too. They each had a bra hat on.

Thursday, July 17, 2008 - Buckhannon, WV with the Strawberry Tarts

My hubby and I headed down to WV to visit with his parents and it just so happened that my Mother-in-Laws Group (Strawberry Tarts) were having a get together that same evening. So my Mother-in-Law and I headed over to where the group was having a cookout. It was very nice. After we ate we went inside and played Family Feud on the TV. That was a lot of fun. This is the whole group before we broke up for the evening. My Mother-in-Law (Lady Quilts A Lot) is the lady in the middle in her Cowboy Red Hat. Queen Barbara is on the floor in front of her and her Mom, also her Vice Queen Katherine is across from her. I don't know all the other ladies names, so I won't attempt to name them.

This is Lady Tagalong(Mom's oxygen tank dressed up)Lady Mary Quiltsalot and myself at the cookout.

Royal Crown Jewels Queen's Council - Thursday, August 7, 2008

Here I am at the Golden Corral in Hermitage, PA for the Royal Crown Jewels Queen's Council meeting

Wednesday, September 10th - Blue Wolf Tavern - Boardman

I met with the ladies from the Queen's of the Roundtable. There were 8 Queen's there in all and we had a great visit. Here I am sitting on the hearth with the Wolf. Looked pretty real.

We sang Happy Birthday to Queen Rita. Queen Judie is also in the picture with Rita

A view of the table of Queens

Here is the whole group. Front row is Queen Donna on the left and Queen Judie on the right. Next row is Queen Sandi, Queen Carol, the owner of the restaurant, Queen Angie. Back row is Queen Rita, Queen Linda and Queen Priscilla - ME. LOL The only pink hatter in the bunch.

I wanted to share with you my Father-in-Law Stanford Sharp. Doesn't he look good in red? This is a hat that I made for Lady Mary Quilts a lot. See our husbands get into this in supporting us in our mission to have fun.

And of course, I have to share my hubby wearing a Red Hat I made. We were headed into the house and my hands were full, so I said, Here, you wear this in. Then I got to the porch and looked back and had to take a picture. He just looked so cute. Like Father, Like Son.
