St Bernadette Home and School Meeting Minutes Nov 5 2008

Secretary’s Report-Melissa read Oct minutes, Ginny approves, Cindy 2nds
Treasurer’s Report – Checking $27,526.29, Savings $8006.59, CD $6086.79. Fall Harvest Gross $1019.50.
School Board Report–
*Correction on playground securtiy cameras: wiring still needed but system is ready to add cameras. Looking towards end of current school year or beginning of next school year for completion.
*Thank you to Lancaster City Schools for including us in the Child Safety program and sharing safety goody bags!
Principal’s Report –
*Babysitting available at 9am mass for ages 0-4years by Judy Callahan. Father working on incorporating liturgy into babysitting program.
*Informal teacher evaluations administered this year. Teachers will be picking a goal to work on for the next few years that is normally incorporated with the school goals.
*Brain Pop is currently being used in the classrooms!
New Business-
*Earning for Learning – St Bernadette won 1st prize! $5000 awarded to school. So far a portion is going toward the purchase of new desks.
*Help needed for Scrip sales after mass! 2 people will be needed at every mass during the Christmas rush!
*Vote passed in favor of $285.08 going to Catholic Schools ad.
*Marlin Art fundraiser brought to agenda by Cindy Gilmore. A portion of proceeds would go to school. More information will be collected before a decision is made.
*Catholic Schools Week – Last week of January, with the family lunch Tuesday, January 27. Family mass is held Sunday, January 25. The Blood Drive date TBD.
*School pledge to church of $10,000. Melissa Burton motions, Erin Griggs 2nds. Motion passed.

*Denise Hoffman looking for a kitchen chair replacement for next year. She will help make the transition as smooth as possible!
*Haunted Hallway to be reevaluated for next year.

*Order forms will go home in kidmail Monday, Nov.24. The end date for order placement is Monday, Dec.8. Orders will be available for pick-up Friday, Dec.19 from 2pm-4pm in the Mary Good Center.
