 DEDICATION DAY IS A SUCCESS!

GREAT NEWS!!!Our new building is finished! We dedicated the facility to the service of the Lord on 10/27/01!! Thanks to Marsha (she worked up the program), it was a great day and we had about 125 in attendance.
Pastor Darrell delivered the dedication message, thus becoming the first one to preach in the nearly completed building. It was a stirring and challenging message.
Several members took part in the service including John, Ken, Willard, Betty, Tammy, Dallas, Linda, Bob, and Barb. Milton Sumner and David Snyder offered the opening and closing prayers.
A local group called The Fox Family Singers sang before the service began and before the message of dedication.
The first item on the program was the raising of the American flag on our new flag pole.(Flag pole is courtesy of Valley Steel Co. Inc.) Veterans John Lenevich and Willard Hicks had the honor of being the first to raise the flag, and then they led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
WORKERS STILL NEEDED!
Victory Baptist Chapel has truly been blessed of God. We have had three groups of volunteers who have given up so much of their time to put up our new Worship Center. First there was the group of Buckeye Builders and those from our Association sister churches who worked from April 9th through June 22nd to get the site ready for the second group. Then David Reynolds' group came on June 29th and worked through July 29th and put up the structure. Lastly, John Shuler's "Missourians on Mission" came on July 30th through August 3rd and did so much of the finish work. You will NEVER find finer, more wonderful people anywhere. Victory Baptist Chapel has extended its family and it now includes dear relatives from New Jersey to Texas. It was wonderful to get to know so many brothers and sisters in the Lord.
Well, the builders have come and gone, and there are still some things we must do. We saw a miracle done in the construction of the building, but there were complications which came up and prevented the volunteers from doing everything that needed to be done. Since we are a small congregation, the items left to be done took us a while to finish. We have had wonderful cooperation from our sister churches and we cannot thank them enough for all they have done. Two of the David Reynolds group, Billy Whitaker and J.B. Ralson remained in the area and installed all the light fixtures as well as some extensive work on getting our electric service installed.
Another brother, Nick Blaser, made at least six trips from the Cincinnati area on his days off to do the plumbing for us. He finished up on 11/24, and we are truly grateful to him.
While they were here, the Missourians on Mission were able to help two of our sister churches. They did some work at the Sardis mission, and put on a new roof at the Shadyside mission's meeting place. We are sure that both jobs were much appreciated. Two members of their group stayed on after the others left in order to finish up some tile work for us. We just cannot thank all of them enough.
Our most important need is stillPRAYERAs a brother with the Missourians pointed out, we should expect to see Satan really attack us now that the building is almost completed. Since April 9th we have been busy building a building, but now, WE must go about the work of building the CHURCH!! God has been busy helping us in our efforts and He will most certainly be there as we try to reach our community for Him, but we can surely expect the devil to be very busy fighting against us. Satan will attack us in every way he can, but the Lord has given us authority and power over him.
Jesus said in
Mt:16:18b: "upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." So Satan cannot stop us unless we let him!
REMEMBER, God is all powerful (omnipotent), Satan is NOT.
God is all knowing (omniscient), Satan is NOT.
God is everywhere (omnipresent), Satan is NOT.
Satan seeks to destroy God's creation in every way he can, but JESUS defeated the devil by His death on the cross and subsequent resurrection, thus our adversary's fate is already sealed for all time.
One item of particular interest! David Gregg, Lena's son and Marilyn's brother has built for us an absolutely beautiful pulpit and communion table. You should make an extra effort to see them.
