LOOKING BACK SO WE CAN LOOK AHEAD

SOME REMINISCENCES AND SOME THOUGHTS
 REMEMBER THIS SIGHT??!!
How many times in the past have you driven by this spot and thought of how God is using our small Chapel to reach the world? Or do you go by and think "One day, SOON!! we will have a new VICTORY BAPTIST CHAPEL on this site!"
 WE LOVE THE NEW SIGN!
 WHO LOVES IT? WE DO!!
Do you remember Shawna who made the sign for us, and the joy of watching her grow? But before the dozers come, before the dirt starts to fly, before the concrete gets poured and before framing crews begin to file in...think back with us on where we've been. From the beginning at the Bonanza...what a group..all full of energy to do the will of God... to begin anew..we could "Do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me". (Philippians 4:13 KJV)
Hopes were high and "Victory" came from this gathering. As names were mentioned...it was Peggy who said the name of "Victory Baptist". We felt the name fit...not only the mood, but the joy in our hearts thinking of what God had in store for us as a new Mission. The part of "Chapel" was chosen because of our size at the time...but we then chose to keep it because it reminded us of our feelings of the closeness and family-like ties we had for our sisters and brothers in Christ. Friends have come and gone...God had other plans for them...but He still blessed our little Chapel. The outreach from our small group has been a blessing in many lives.
We remember the special miracle that God did in the lives of Jude and his daughter Amy. The joy of being there to witness both of them being baptized at the same time. There were 13 baptized that day!! Remember when Daniel was being baptized, Pastor Henry said, "Think of this as a funeral!" And then to see his face when he was dunked!!
We've been a group that undertook turning a garage into a HOUSE OF GOD!! From having bicycles hanging from the rafters to having a CROSS. God has always given us the manpower to do what needed to be done. We remember with fondness the remodeling of the garage...OH...the things that we threw out!! Betty tossing items out the window...whatever they were..(we stopped asking after a while).. and Willard "USING HIS HEAD" to keep things together. (Drywall up to the ceiling that is). Ken making sure that he was HOLDING his cup of COFFEE!!(Just kidding, Ken!) Folks all pitched in and helped where needed.
It was a lot of fun and a lot of work...but look at it now...that small "Chapel in the Garage" (that is how we are known) is full of memories. That in itself is very special. We've done a lot of growing..when we thought we should begin to build, God knew that we were not ready. There was still some growing and stretching He had to do with us.
We've watched little Erin from birth to become the fine young lady she is now...(remember she was the baby Jesus in our first Christmas program). We've seen weddings, and we've seen some loved ones go to be with the Lord. But through it all..we've grown in love for each other. We are a FAMILY, through all the times, good and bad. Always remember the Christmases spent here and seeing the beautiful things that Maggie can do with the flowers and Marsha can do with the tree. God's Spirit has been with us through it all!!
We love our Savior, we love our family and we love the special place He gave us to gather together and worship Him. But like all things, it is time...HIS time...to move on...to take the next step of faith...to build HIS CHURCH!! So as we go forward, let's not forget where we've been. Remember these days with fondness...and have hope in our future with Christ!!....
He's not done with us yet!!!
 The Risen Lord
"For with God nothing shall be impossible"
Luke 1:37
KJV
The sign sat for several years before we were able to build our new facility! We now have the new worship center which the Lord has given us and we are truly grateful.
PRAISE THE LORD!On Sunday July 8th, 2001 (only 1 week after construction began) we had morning and evening services in our new building!! There were 63 at the morning worship hour. One of the volunteers, Brother Billy Whitaker spoke at both sevices, and his wife Catherine gave her testimony that evening.
Except for a very small amount of siding on the front of the building (and the rear wall), the siding was up and it looked wonderful! The inside of course, was not finished, but it was a marvellous experience even surrounded by the wall partitions.
We put scripture verses and the names of the volunteers and our members on the partitions and studs, all of which will be covered in the course of finishing the interior. However, the scriptures and names will be there for as long as the building lasts.
God told Abraham that his seed would be as the stars in the sky or the sand on the shore. If he could count the stars or the grains of sand, he could number his descendants. One day Dallas told Clayton that David Reynolds wanted him (Clayton) to go around and count the nails in the building. Dallas said this was needed because David believed we were short two nails. The nails were not counted, but that would have been easier than counting all the ways the Lord has blessed us in this project.
