October 3rd, 2008 Meeting Minutes for the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club, EDGETA branch #191.
The October meeting of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club EDGETA branch # 191 was called to order by the clubs President, James Clark.

There were 27 members present.

The secretary / treasurer read the minutes from the September 11th meeting. Hopper McGee made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Jean Kuhn, Motion carried.

The treasurer’s report was read. Jean Kuhn made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Peggy Knowles, Motion carried.

September 11th, 2008 Meeting Minutes for the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club, EDGETA branch #191.

The September meeting of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club EDGETA branch # 191 was called to order by the clubs President, James Clark after the pancake supper.

The secretary / treasurer read the minutes from the August 22nd special meeting. Weldon Montgomery made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Clarence Kuhn, Motion carried.

The treasurer’s report was read. Bob Cutler made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Clay Jones, Motion carried.

James talked about the Expo meeting.
The blood mobile would be here on Friday.
Jim Esbenshade will not be able to make the show due to scheduled surgery.
Upcoming events discussed:
Murray County Show
Dulcimer festival at Bennington.
Pottsboro Heritage festival.
Boswell Car show, $20 entry fee for the contest.
Approximately 20 club tractors expected at the October show.

August 22nd, 2008 Meeting Minutes for the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club, EDGETA branch #191. The Special meeting of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club EDGETA branch # 191 was called to order by the clubs President, James Clark.
The secretary / treasurer read the minutes from the August 1st meeting. Clarence Kuhn made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Sue McGee. Motion carried.
The treasurer’s report was not prepared for this meeting.
James announced that the AG Expo would only be one day this year, Friday only. Security will be provided for both days. Discussion followed.
1 Schedule of events with times.

6 Parade 3pm at the latest.
7 We have a limited number of workers and they will provide volunteers.

Meat for the October show was discussed, Pork was suggested, Danny Petersen made the motion, Jack Wallace seconded, Motion passed.

August 1st, 2008 Meeting Minutes for the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club, EDGETA branch #191.

The August meeting of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club EDGETA branch # 191 was called to order by the clubs President, James Clark.
Twenty three members were present.
The secretary / treasurer read the minutes from the June meeting. Clearence Kuhn made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Randy Allen. Motion carried.
The secretary / treasurer read the treasurer’s report. Hopper McGee made a motion to accept as printed, seconded by Jean Kuhn. Motion carried.
James announced that September meeting needed to be moved due to the county fair is the same weekend. Suggested to move it to the 12th.
Dinner for the October show was discussed,
James brought up the topic of changing the dues for 2009. Proposal was twenty five dollars for the first member and nine dollars for each additional family member. Linda Allen made the motion to accept, Danny Petersen seconded the motion, Motion passed.

The club’s October tractor show was the next topic of discussion.
a. Buttons. Randy Allen made the motion for Cecil Potter’s Allis Chalmers G to be on this years button, Bill Nation seconded the motion, Motion passed.
b. James said the AG Expo is wanting us to do some kids events.

c. Need a schedule of events with time of operation.

d. Cecil volunteered to coordinate having a blood drive at the show.
e. Door prizes. A motion was made by Linda Allen for the door prizes to go to guests only, Jean Kuhn seconded the motion, Motion passed.
James announced that there were 10 tractors and 1 garden tractor at the Bonham Heritage days on July 26th. All had a good time.
James announced that the Pottsboro Heritage days were going to be held on Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th. The parade will be Saturday morning.
James announced that he is working on a scrap iron deal on the halves as a fund raiser for the club. If it works out members of the club will need to haul all of the scrap to the scrap yard for half of the proceeds.
Tractor Supply in Durant has asked the club to come back with their tractors on Saturday October 4th.

Meeting Minutes of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club.
June 6th, 2008

The June meeting of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club was preceded by the quarterly pot luck dinner. Carol Pennell asked for the blessing for the meal.

The meeting was called to order by the clubs President, James Clark. Thirty six members were present.

The secretary / treasurer read the minutes from the May meeting. Clarence Kuhn made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Hopper McGee. Motion carried.

The secretary / treasurer read the treasurer’s report. Clarence Kuhn made a motion to accept as printed, seconded by Jean Kuhn. Motion carried.

James announced that Jean Craig wanted the club to come to the Bonham Heritage day the last weekend of July and to invite as many other clubs to attend as possible.

There were seven tractors displayed at Tractor Supply and ten tractors in the parade and on display at the Magnolia Festival. There were eleven tractors on the spring tractor drive that was a few hours each direction plus an hour or so for lunch, all had a great time. Also the Bennington Dulcimer Festival would be on October 3rd & 4th.

James announced that the Golden Harvest would be a one day show. Also mentioned was the club cooking breakfast was discussed and Clay Jones made the motion for the club to cook breakfast, Linda Allen seconded the motion, Motion carried. The menu would be the same as least year, Pancakes & syrup, sausage, coffee & juice. The cooking needs to start around six am.

E.D.G.E & T.A. membership & insurance was the next topic. Carol Pennell made the motion to take this topic off the table from the last meeting, Bob Cutler seconded. Discussions followed, Bob Cutler made the motion for the club to join, Jean Kuhn seconded the motion, Motion carried.

Also mentioned was the need for a special newsletter to other clubs about insurance requirements and or E.D.G.E & T.A. membership well in advance of our show in October. It was mentioned that the club might pay the membership for people coming to our show if they would not.

Jack Wallace made the motion to adjourn, Jean Kuhn seconded the motion, all were in agreement.

Meeting Minutes of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club.
May 2nd, 2008

The May meeting of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club was called to order by the clubs Vice President, Hopper McGee.
Ann Nation was asked to lead off with a prayer.
Sixteen members were present.

The secretary / treasurer read the minutes from the April meeting. Jean Kuhn made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Clarence Kuhn. Motion carried.
The secretary / treasurer read the treasurer’s report. Clarence Kuhn made a motion to accept as printed, seconded by Sue McGee. Motion carried.

Hopper opened the floor to Carol Pennell to talk about the tractor drive. Carol presented three options for the route. The drive will be on Saturday May 10th to allow more people to participate in the drive that work on Friday.

  1. Start at Carol’s Saturday morning, drive to Speeds for lunch, and then drive on to Jim Esbenshade’s farm.

  3. Start at Jim Esbenshade’s farm Saturday morning, Drive to Speeds for lunch, and then drive on to Carol’s.
Also mentioned were:
  • Bring your own drinks.
  • Clay Jones was to bring the clubs dinner ware.
  • Bring your own extension cord if you need electricity.
  • James has a fish fryer, Hopper to has a 2nd one we can use.
  • Peggy Cutler to bring the Fries, Cole Slaw, Hush Puppies.
  • Mark Bishop to supply the eggs for Breakfast.
Carol’s place is located east of Denison. Go east on FM120 and turn north on Wild Kingdom Road, go to the end of the road, stay to the left at the fork in the road.

Discussions about the insurance followed. After a brief discussion it was decided to table joining EDGE&TA for insurance until the next meeting when hopefully more would be present. Mark Bishop to contact Susanne Bishop with the Marshall County club to get information about the insurance they have. Carol made the motion to table the insurance; Clarence seconded the motion, Motion carried.

The June meeting is the quarterly dinner meeting, it was decided to let James & Betsy Clark decide upon which meet the club would provide for the dinner.

Sue McGee made the motion to adjourn, Jean Kuhn seconded the motion, all were in agreement.

Meeting Minutes of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club. April 4th, 2008

The March meeting of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club was called to order by the clubs president, James Clark.

Thirty members were present.

The secretary / treasurer read the minutes from the March meeting. Clarence Kuhn made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Bob Cutler. Motion carried.
The secretary / treasurer read the treasurer’s report. Clarence Kuhn made a motion to accept as printed, seconded by Louis Wallace. Motion carried.

Insurance was discussed.

The tractor drive coming up on 4/25 & 4/26 was discussed. Everyone is to meet at Jim Esbenshade’s farm between 9 & 10 am Friday 4/25. The drive would be 4 to 5 miles before stopping for lunch and then drive on to Carol Pennell’s place. Dinner will be a fish fry with hush puppies, french fries & slaw. Electricity is available but no water. Slow moving emblems will be required on each tractor.

James proposed an idea of collecting junk or scrap iron to sell for a fundraiser for the club. Metal prices are up high.

Shows and events were discussed. Randy Allen mentioned the Bokchito Homecoming

The July meeting will be moved out one week to July 11 due to the holiday.

Meeting Minutes of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club.
March 7th, 2008

The March meeting of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club was called to order by the clubs president, James Clark after a meal of hamburgers and all of the fixing’s. Twenty members and two guests were present.

The secretary / treasurer read the minutes from the February meeting. Jean Kuhn made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Peggy Cutler. Motion carried.
The secretary / treasurer read the treasurer’s report. Weldon Montgomery made a motion to accept as printed, seconded by Randy Allen. Motion carried.

James Clark introduced the guest speaker and his wife, Howard & Glenda Hobson from Gentry Arkansas with EDGE&TA. Howard talked at length about the EDGE&TA organization and the benefits of becoming a member such as the liability insurance while you are at any show or parade displaying or demonstrating your tractor or equipment. Some of the requirements were explained:

  • Dues are $9.00 per year per member. ($5 is for the national membership and $4 is for the insurance.
  • Term is 4/16 to 4/15. We need to have all our information in prior to 4/16/08.
  • For a Bryan County club sponsored event, anyone participating / showing or demonstrating in the event had to be an EDGE&TA member for the insurance to be in effect for the event.
  • Jr. Driver program for kids.
  • Optional insurance for tractors, tools & etc. Min fee of $50 per year, total premium to be determined by the amount of equipment to be covered.
  • No walk on sled. The same sled can be used if weight such as cement blocks or a similar means of weight is used, absolutely no people on the sled.
  • People mover requirements. (Tractor size, safety chains)
  • Additional tractor rider requirements.
  • Event advertisement on the national website’s event calendar.

It was brought up that we need to communicate in advance to the other clubs around that come to our show about the EDGE&TA membership requirement. Weldon Montgomery made the motion, Randy Allen seconded, motion carried.

James is going to talk to Jim about selling snow cones and concessions at the Golden Harvest day. James said that he would buy the machine and if it worked out he would sell it to the club at cost. It was also mentioned that the Cooke County Club made about 75% of its revenue from concessions.

Meeting Minutes of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club.
January 4th, 2007
The January meeting of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club was called to order by the clubs president, James Clark. Twenty five members were present.

The secretary / treasurer read the minutes from the December meeting. Jean Kuhn made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Sue McGee. Motion carried.
The secretary / treasurer read the treasurer’s report. Linda Allen made a motion to accept as printed, seconded by Hopper McGee. Motion carried.

James Clark discussed the newsletter and how there wasn’t much to say each month and wanted to know what was thought about sending a newsletter every other month. There was nothing in the by – laws of the clubs requiring a monthly newsletter. Randy Allen made the motion to change the newsletter publication from monthly to every other month, Hopper McGee seconded the motion. Motion carried.

2008 club membership dues were mentioned as being due.

Plans for the chili supper were discussed. The club would pay for supplies, repay with the proceeds. One recipe was discussed. Weldon had mentioned in the December meeting that he would donate some ground beef. Linda, Jean, Hopper, Betsy & Yvonne would cook at home and bring the chili on Friday morning. Also mentioned was bowl size for take out, tickets, tea & coffee, price of $5 per person, slide show and advertisement.

Randy Allen mentioned that Tractor Supply wanted some tractors on display Memorial Day weekend, Sat the 24th.

2008 Officer Elections was the next topic of business. Clarence Kuhn made the motion to keep the current club officers, Randy Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried.

The spring tractor drive was discussed. April 25th & 26th. Unload at Jim Esbenshade’s farm, approximate 15 mile drive to Carol’s place.

The July club meeting falls on the 4th will be moved to the following Friday.

Insurance details were discussed, more discussion to follow.

Danny Petersen made the motion to adjourn, Clarence Kuhn seconded the motion, and all were in agreement, motion carried.

Meeting Minutes of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club.
December 7, 2007

The December meeting of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club was called to order by the clubs president James Clark after the quarterly dinner.
Twenty five members were present.

The secretary / treasurer read the minutes from the November meeting. Hopper McGee made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Jean Kuhn. Motion carried.
The treasurer’s report was read by James Clark. Clarence Kuhn made a motion to accept as printed, seconded by Weldon Montgomery. Motion carried.

The President announced that he was passing the hat around for donations for the USO. One hundred thirty nine dollars was donated. James suggested that instead of the club matching the donation, round up to three hundred dollars even. Danny Petersen made the motion to donate three hundred dollars, Hopper McGee seconded the motion, Motion carried.

Insurance for shows and club events was discussed and some literature was passed around for all to read. Lengthy discussion followed. Clay Jones was going to look over the insurance information in more depth to see if it would help us in the future.

It was announced that Carol Pennell had been in the hospital for eleven days and was now at home and doing well.

The floor was opened up to ideas for fund raising. A chili lunch / supper was discussed at length. Friday February 8th was suggested, 11am – 2pm and 5pm – 7pm. Clay Jones would check on some large pots to cook with. Advertisement was mentioned, mass email through the Chamber of Commerce, Ads in the paper. Danny Petersen made the motion for the date and times, Jean Kuhn seconded the motion, motion carried.

Peggy Knowles made the motion to adjourn, Danny Petersen seconded the motion, and all were in agreement, motion carried.

Meeting Minutes of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club.
November 2, 2007

The October meeting of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club was called to order by the clubs president James Clark.

Twenty five members present.

The secretary / treasurer read the minutes from the October 5th meeting. Clarence Kuhn made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Randy Allen. Motion carried.

The treasurer’s report was read. Jean Kuhn made a motion to accept as printed, seconded by Sue McGee. Motion carried.

James announced that the December meeting is our next dinner meeting. With leftovers frozen from the tractor show or not used, there will be plenty of food for this meeting. Desert items and bread will be needed.

James thanked Linda, and all the others that helped to make the Saturday meal at the tractor show very good.

James also expressed that with the lack of interest in the tractor pull, he wanted everyone to consider dropping the idea. Several members agreed and voiced their views. Clarence Kuhn made the motion to not have the tractor pull, Jerry Downs seconded. Motion carried.

Linda expressed she had been hearing a lot of negative talk from other clubs about not having the tractor show during the AG EXPO and wanted to know if we should not have our show with Jim Esbenshade. Clay Jones didn’t think that the AG EXPO was going to end and that we should continue to do both shows. James also thought we could do both as many members are already doing both shows. Bill Nation mentioned the need for flyers and a schedule of events. The club members doing some different demonstrations to help draw attention was mentioned. Don’t let a few personality conflicts ruin it for the rest of the club. Linda made the motion to continue the October show, Clay Jones seconded. Motion carried.

Clay expressed his desire to find a long term lease for show grounds, have the ability to leave equipment and tractors there, discussion followed. Ed Ivy mentioned the possibility of a grant. It was stated that Quinton Jones had checked into that earlier this year and couldn’t find anything.

Carol Pennell wanted to know if the club was interested in having a tractor drive.
Discussions followed. Carol made the motion to have a tractor drive; James seconded the motion, Motion carried.
Carol explained that he had came up with a route for a tractor drive starting at the Esbenshade’s taking the back roads to cross at the Carpenters Bluff bridge and on to Carols place a few more miles. The drive should be 10 – 12 miles long, electric would be available for campers.

James announced that we will need to find another fund raising method other than Choctaw. A chili supper or bean dinner was mentioned. Nothing was decided.

James mentioned that the annual charity donation was upon us and that we had donated to the USO last year and asked if there were any other suggestions. No other suggestions were mentioned; several wanted to continue to donate to the USO. Hopper made the motion to continue the donation to the USO, James Clark seconded, Motion carried.
It was stated that in the December meeting, we would pass the hat and that the club would match the donations.

The Durant Veterans Day Parade on November 10th was mentioned, 6 – 8 members were planning on driving their tractors in the parade.

Linda Allen made the motion to adjourn, Clarence Kuhn seconded, all agreed.

Meeting Minutes of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club.
October 5, 2007

The October meeting of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club was called to order by the clubs president James Clark.

Twenty one members present.

The secretary / treasurer read the minutes from the August 31st meeting. Hopper McGee made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Clay Jones. Motion carried.

The treasurer’s report was read. Jean Kuhn made a motion to accept as printed, seconded by Randy Allen. Motion carried.

The President discussed details about the upcoming AG Expo and Antique Tractor show.
Items mentioned:
• Tractor rodeo, volunteers needed.
• Sled pull.
• The parade time needs to be later in the day.
• Show buttons were not talked about at the last meeting. James and several members all agreed to use one of Allen Dyers tractors to be on this years show button. Allen’s 1946 JD B was selected to be on the button. The same tractor is also on the website as the tractor of the month.
• Magnetic strips are to be used on the tractor display information signs along with the owners filling them out to help speed thing up.
• Camper trailers at the show are ok.

Jim Esbenshade said they have had responses from thirty four different states since the website is up and running.

Tractor pulls were discussed. The sled requirements are $15 per hook with a $600 minimum, anything above $600 will be split with the club. Provided is the sled, scale, pullers insurance but no spectator insurance.
Dates discussed were January 25th or 26th.
Pull for fun ONLY and No Money was stressed to eliminate problems.
• Different classes needed.
• No heat in the arena.
• Portable heaters.
• Exhaust
• Concessions
• Charging admissions, maybe not the 1st year.

Jim Esbenshade will work on getting Jeff Hovack to come to the next meeting for further discussions and more details. May need to change the meeting date if needed.

Randy Allen mentioned the Tractor / Car show on November 3rd at Bokchito.
Allen Dyer mentioned he will bring his buzz saw to the Ag Expo.
Entry & Safety forms were mentioned.
Door prizes, tickets at registration.

Meeting Minutes of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club.
August 31, 2007

The September meeting of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club was called to order by the clubs president James Clark after a supper of pancakes & Syrup, sausage and summer fruit desert. Twenty two members were present.

In the absence of the secretary / treasurer, Yvonne Downs read the minutes from the August 3rd meeting. Peggy Knowles made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Clarence Kuhn. Motion carried.

The treasurer’s report was read. Hopper McGee made a motion to accept as printed, seconded by Sue McGee. Motion carried.
The President reported that Allen Dyer was on the sick list and that tests are being conducted to make a diagnosis.

James bought up the subject of the upcoming AG Expo. A lengthy discussion followed with a determination for members to simply show up with their equipment and have no other special activities. A motion was made to follow this plan by Peggy Knowles and seconded by Peggy Cutler. Motion carried.

Cecil Potter volunteered to cook smoked brisket. He will pick up pork brisket and let the club reimburse him. A motion was made by Bob Cutler to accept Cecil’s offer, seconded by Ann Nation. Motion carried. Deserts will be provided by club volunteers.

Cecil informed the club that he has donated an antique tractor to the Durant Museum at 4th & Main. It is now on display there.

James gave information about the Sulphur Show.
Jim Esbenshade presented the next issue for discussion by encouraging the expansion of activities at his Golden Harvest Days. He has gone to a number of shows in other states and feels that a pooling of resources from different clubs and incorporating more involvement by our club, will provide a greater variety of activities that will result in greater community and area participation. Jim mentioned that insurance is a factor to be considered.

Betsy Clark suggested that school children be invited to view the activities as a learning experience. Jim wants to expand activities to encourage people of every age to get involved. Tractor pulls were stressed, to inject new enthusiasm and variety. Danny Petersen made a motion to have a tractor pull, Peggy Knowles seconded. Motion carried.

James stated the officers will meet before the AG Expo or at a later meeting to present ideas for a greater show. Members agreed.

Betsy Clark Made the motion to take a more active part in the Esbenshade’s Golden Harvest Days, seconded by Clay Knowles. Motion carried.

James reported that Bruce Hottel of Sherman, donated an antique peanut combine that is now in Bonham. Bob Cutler stated that he would look it over.

Meeting Minutes of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club.
August 3, 2007

The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with the staff from the Durant Chamber of Commerce and the Red Coats was conducted at 6:30 pm. Prior to the ribbon cutting, the club officers were introduced followed by all of the members and visitors present. The Ribbon cutting was conducted along with a group photo of all the club members. James Clark brought Kendra’s recently restored John Deere tractor to add to the ribbon cutting and group photo.

The August 3rd meeting of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club was called to order by the clubs vice president Hopper McGee.

There were twenty one members present plus ten visitors for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The minutes from the July meeting were read by the secretary / treasurer. Sue McGee made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Jean Kuhn. Motion carried.

The treasurer’s report was read by the secretary / treasurer. Jean Kuhn made a motion to accept as read, seconded by Clarence Kuhn. Motion carried.

Hopper announced that there is a scheduling conflict for the Sept, meeting. The Sept, meeting is originally scheduled during the Bryan County Free Fair and that the Community Building would be filled up. Ann Nation made the motion for the Sept, meeting to be moved up one week to the 31st. Yvonne Downs seconded the motion, motion carried.

The August 31st meeting for September will be the quarterly dinner meeting.

Betsy Clark announced that Linda Allen volunteered to be in charge of the meal at the AG Expo. Suggestions were chopped beef & potato salad to keep it easy. It was also agreed for Linda to decide and make a recommendation.

The Bonham parade was hot!

Betsy Clark made a motion to have pancakes at the dinner meeting and use up the leftover mix from the Golden Harvest breakfast. The motion was seconded by Jean Kuhn, motion passed.

James Clark announced that Jim Esbenshade paid him for the donated tractor, $500.00 plus $200.00 more for the club’s effort at the Golden Harvest. Hopper suggested that the club send Jim & Barbara a thank you note.

James also announced that Jim Esbenshade wants the club to be more involved in his show. Possibly more than one day, Swap meet, concessions, more people with more days, more room for displays. 1400 people (counted at the gate) attended the 2007 show.

James said that the 1st annual Bonham Heritage days had eight of the clubs tractors show up for the parade. James did his first interview on the radio.

James asked if there was any of the surrounding clubs that would not come to the Esbenshade’s show due to problems in the past? None were discussed.

On Oct, 27 SOSU will be having a homecoming parade at 10:00am down University Blvd, at the college.

Clay Jones mentioned he was going to a auction in Garden City Kansas.

Upcoming events mentioned are: • Cooke County, Sept, 1st & 2nd. • Black-eyed Pea Festival. • Murray County Show, plus tractor drive.

July 6, 2007

The July 6th meeting of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club was called to order by the clubs president James Clark.
There were nineteen members present.
The minuets from the June meeting were read by the secretary / treasurer. Hopper McGee made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Peggy Knowles. Motion carried.

Jean Kuhn mentioned that the print on the newsletter needs to be larger.
James Clark mentioned that the Breakfast the club served at the Golden Harvest Days went very well. There was plenty for everyone.
Jim & Barbara Esbenshade appreciated it a lot.
Total breakfast expense was $158.00
The Ribbon Cutting for the club joining the Durant Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for 6:30pm on August 3rd to allow as many of the club members possible to participate.
James Clark announced that Jim Esbenshade had offered $500.00 for the tractor that had been donated to the club. Peggy Knowles made a motion to sell the tractor, seconded by Lou Wallace. Motion carried.
James Clark announced that Bonham’s Heritage day parade is July 28th. Jean Craig had invited the tractor club to participate, several people were interested.
James Clark announced that the Murray County Antique Tractor Club would be having a tractor drive to their centennial show this year, it will be the day before the show starts.
James Clark mentioned that he had talked to a lady from the Chamber of Commerce and that a meeting for the AG Expo would be very soon. It will mainly be vendors and the tractor show as there will be no Ag Olympics this year during the Expo.
Items discussion on the Tractor show:
Scale of the show depends upon how much everyone is willing to work.
• Coordinate children events.
• Advertising, radio
• Coordinating, scheduled events
• Trophies
• Timekeepers
• Serve lunch on Saturday, (Charlie’s Chicken or Burgers)
• Vendor’s fee = donation for silent auction or door prizes.
• Set up silent auction in a better place to be seen more.

• James asked Benny to bring his ice cream maker to the show.
• Health Dept, concerns on food items.
James Clark asked what everyone thought about the fundraising, are we doing ok? He felt that working the Choctaw Concessions is going well.
Mark Bishop asked for more tractor pictures for the tractor of the month.
Peggy Knowles announced that the Bennington parade would start lining up at 9:30am and the parade starts at 10:00am

June 1, 2007

The June 1st potluck dinner meeting of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club was called to order by the clubs president James Clark. There were thirty two members present. James asked to eat dinner prior to covering club business.
Ann Nation asked the blessing for the meal.
The minuets from the May meeting were read by the secretary / treasurer. Hopper McGee made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Jean Kuhn. Motion carried.

Betsy Clark announced that Charles Parnell had sent a donation of one hundred dollars for the USO. Betsy also had a lot of pictures from the Pawnee show that was passed around for all to see.
James announced for Magnolia Festival Parade that tractors needed to start lining up at 8:30am at Arkansas & 4th and the parade starts at 9:00am. After the parade, tractors needed to return to 2nd street, bring lawn chairs, and canopies if you want shade.
A decision on serving breakfast at the Golden Harvest was tabled at the May meeting to be discussed during the June meeting. Clarence Kuhn made the motion for the club to serve breakfast, Jean Kuhn seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The menu for the breakfast was discussed based upon last years problems, the recommendation was made to serve pancakes, sausage, juice & coffee. Jean Kuhn made the motion to accept, Betsy Clark seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Clay Jones volunteered to buy the supplies necessary and recommended that we start early. Five to six people volunteered to cook.
Barbara Esbenshade asked for some of the ladies to make a desert for the evening meal.
Jim Esbenshade said that they will need some help at the gate for parking and collecting the names and address’ for mail outs. Jim also said that there was more clubs interested in attending the Golden Harvest.
Upcoming events were mentioned. James Clark reminded everyone that the Ag Expo is getting closer and we all need to start planning the events. Events mentioned were hay bailing, sawmill, buzz saw, tractor rodeo, kiddy tractor pull. It was stressed again that the club needs to get organized with a schedule of events, circulate flyers and encourage vendors to come to the show.
Peggy Knowles brought some small magnetic signs with the tractor club logo that are for sale for $5. A larger sign was available for $20.
James Clark is asking $700 for the tractor donated to the club, anyone interested in the tractor needs to contact James.
Members suggested that on the Potluck dinner meetings that the club purchase the meat for the dinner and everyone else bring veggies and deserts. Danny Petersen made the motion to accept, Clay Jones seconded. Motion carried.
Club members worked at Choctaw the Friday prior to the June meeting. The club is supposed to work again on June 28th and we will need nine people.

May 4, 2007

The May 4th meeting of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club was called to order by Hopper McGee in the absence of the president with eighteen members present.

Ann Nation opened the meeting with prayer.

The Minuets were read by Sue McGee in the absence of the secretary / treasurer. Peggy Knowles made the motion to accept as read, seconded by Jack Wallace. Motion carried.

The treasurer’s report was read by Sue McGee. Jean Kuhn made a motion to accept as read, seconded by Peggy Knowles. Motion carried.

Carol Pennell suggested that we cancel the Spring Tractor Drive because of people being busy putting up hay and maybe have one in the fall. Peggy Knowles made a motion to do this, Jack Wallace seconded the motion. Motion carried.

The Magnolia Festival wanted to know how many tractors would be coming to the festival so they would know how many spaces to reserve on the big parking lot behind the First Texoma National Bank. Several members said they didn’t want to be put in that alleyway where they were once before because it was so hot there. They would prefer to be put at City Hall. It was suggested that James Clark talk to the Chamber again.

Mike Delong brought fliers for the Golden Harvest Days in June and asked if the club was going to be interested in cooking breakfast again. He said a man would furnish electric grills to be used and there would also be refrigeration available. Mike also said Jim Esbenshade would try to be at the next meeting to answer any further questions. The club will wait until ten to decide.

Louis Wallace said that the tractor donated to the club was going to be real expensive to restore. He made a motion that the club give James Clark the authority to either sell the tractor to an individual or sell it as scrap iron. The motion was seconded by Peggy Knowles. Motion carried.

Randy Allen reported that the Travel Information Center at Colbert told him if the club would bring fliers about our October show to them, they would be glad to pass them out. All of the members thought this was a good idea.

Louis Wallace made the motion to adjourn, it was seconded by everyone.

Our next meeting on June 1, 2007 will be our potluck supper.


Meeting Minutes of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club.

April 6, 2007

President James Clark called the meeting to order with twenty six members present.
In the absence of the secretary / treasurer, Yvonne Downs read the minutes from the March meeting. Clarence Kuhn made a motion to accept as read, seconded by Bill Nation. Motion carried.

The treasurer’s report was read by Yvonne Downs. Linda Tschoepe made a motion to to accept, seconded by Jean Kuhn. Motion carried.

The President reported that the club had received a check in the amount of $250.00 from Choctaw casino for the work done in the concession stand at one of their events. There will likely be more opportunities to work there as a fund raiser. Several agreed that it is a worthwhile activity for that purpose.

More details of the trail drive were discussed. The route is to be decided on Friday night of the drive. Everybody bring their own drinks, and deserts may be brought. Betsy Clark made a motion to eat lunch at a restaurant, seconded by Mary Ivey. Motion carried.

Chuck Parnell, Cleveland Co., saw our website and asked if some of their members might join our trail drive, also buy club items from our vendor. The club agreed to allow them to participate.

The next issue for discussion was whether or not to join the Chamber of Commerce. This would allow the club to acquire a wider range of advertisement. The cost to join is $80. After considering the advantages, Randy Allen made a motion for our club to join the Durant Chamber of Commerce. Ed Ivey seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Allen Dyer reported that Malcolm McCoy of Cartwright, would donate a 60’s model Massey Ferguson tractor to the club for rebuilding if it was wanted. After discussion, the club agreed to try it, and Clarence Kuhn stated that he would pick it up.

The president reported on upcoming events, then asked for ideas for the fund raisers. No more ideas were presented. He stated that Lisa Long told him that we could be given a visible spot to display the tractors during the Magnolia Festival, possibly City Hall.

Bill Nation informed us that Bokchito wants our club to set up at their show and enter their parade. Several plan to participate.

March 2, 2007

President James Clark called the dinner meeting to order with thirty four members present and Allen Dyer said the blessing for the dinner.

The minutes from the February meeting was read by Mark Bishop, Weldon Montgomery made the motion to accept as read, motion was seconded by Hopper McGee, motion carried.

The Treasurers report was read by Mark Bishop, Clay Jones made the motion to accept as printed, Jean Kuhn seconded the motion, motion carried.

The president opened the meeting by asking if anyone had any items for discussion, none were brought up.
James Clark announced that it was time to talk about the scholarship program. Further discussion brought up that there was very little interest from students likely due to the amount of the scholarship. Clay Jones added that the club did not have to provide a scholarship and that the club was not getting the benefit from the effort put in.
The motion was made to cancel the scholarship program, Danny Petersen seconded the motion, motion passed.

Hopper McGee made the motion for an emergency fund for the needy. The officers would conduct a special meeting for dispersment of funds, Alan Dyer seconded the motion, the motion did not pass.
Clay Jones made the motion that this issue be tabled until this time next year, Hopper McGee seconded the motion, motion passed.

James Clark talked with the Choctaw Casino, during the Bingo blowout, March 8 – 11, we would get one shift of work in the concession stand to earn $250.00

Fundraiser ideas were discussed, a chili cook off and a pancake breakfast were mentioned but nothing agreed upon.
It was also stated that the Flea Market / Garage sale was a disappointment, bad location.
Hopper McGee recommended that this event needed to be held as an auction in conjunction with another event. It was agreed to table the fund raiser discussion until next months meeting.

Clay Jones said that he had talked to Jim Dunigan and that someone from the club will be on the AG Expo Committee this year. James, Betsy, Danny and Mark may all participate.

James Clark talked more about land for the club. Salvage city is 15 – 20 acres, also a flood plain, only good for some kind of park. Clay Jones mentioned the possibility of restrictions from the city and the concerns of flood.

The spring tractor drive is still on.
Food was discussed, Hamburgers Friday evening, Breakfast Saturday morning.

Allen Dyer made the motion for Hamburgers at camp, Clay Knowles seconded, Motion carried.
Dinner Friday night would be at 7:00 pm. Breakfast Saturday morning will be pancakes and sausage when everyone gets up. Bring your own lunch on the drive. There may be more discussion about food at the April meeting.

Show advertisement was mentioned; send information to OK Living to advertise the tractor show during the AG Expo.

With no other business, Hopper McGee made the motion to adjourn the meeting, Clarence Kuhn seconded the motion, motion carried.

February 02, 2007 Meeting Minutes

President James Clark called the meeting to order with thirty members present.

The minutes from the January meeting was read, motion was made to accept as read, motion was seconded. Motion carried.
The Treasurers report was read, motion was made to accept as printed, motion was seconded. Motion carried.

The president opened with announcing the news of the clubs new website. It was stated that we needed updated contact information plus an email address if available.

Also discussed was a tractor of the month photo to be posted on the home page of the website.
A motion was made by Ed Ivey for members to send in their photo and a random drawing would be done by Mark Bishop each month, all regular photos will be returned after scanning for posting on the website. The motion was seconded by Kendra Clark. Motion carried.

The spring tractor drive was discussed with a tentative date of April 27th & 28th. Carol Pennell recommended a rain date and it was tentatively set for May 25th & May 26th.
Motion was made to accept, Linda Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Betsy Clark talked about the T shirts, caps and jackets with the club logo. An order form was passed around. T shirts are gray $8.00 each, Caps in blue, red, gray & green are $5.00 each and Jackets in black are $15.00 each. For sizes in 2XL or 3XL add $2.00.

James Clark discussed the desire for the club to obtain some land for the club to have our own show grounds. Ideas discussed were an outright purchase, a long term lease from the city, a possible donation and a possible grant. Discussions to be continued in the next meeting.

Betsy Clark discussed ideas for the Ag Expo. Ideas were as follows:
Awards for the tractors, Have some grand stands for the parade, judges and a ceremony for the winners.
Tractor pulls use judges to mark distance accurately and provide awards such as trophies for the winners.
A peddle tractor pull for the kids.
Kids bounce.
Lawn mower / garden tractor pull.
Have some bleachers for exhibitions such as the saw mill, hay baler etc.
Betsy said she has already lined up two bands to play music.
It was recommended that we start gathering item early for prizes or auction.

Mark Bishop spoke of the business cards were printed up for members to take and pass out or leave at area business’ to promote our club and website to try and draw in more members.

James Clark made it known that Betsy had started a scrapbook for the club. A few members had some of the club’s old scrapbooks and indicated that they would bring them to Betsy Clark.

James Clark reminded everyone that March’s meeting would be a dinner meeting.

A motion was made to adjourn and seconded. Motion carried.


January 05, 2007 meeting minutes.

President Peggy Knowles called the meeting to order. Twenty one members were present.

Minutes of the December meeting were read and motion made by Clarence Kuhn to accept as read, seconded by Jean Kuhn. Motion carried.

The Treasurer's Report was read and motion made by Jean Kuhn to accept as printed, seconded by Sue McGee. Motion carried.

The President reported that our club was offered the opportunity to work at the Choctaw Colliseum or Arena's concession stand during some of their events several times throughout the year for $250.00 each event. From six to eight people would be needed for each of several shifts. A willingness to participate in this fund raising opportunity was expressed by a number of the members. Several T-shirts have been purchased and printed for these events. Betsy Clark made a motion to buy grey T-shirts to wear in addition to the red ones, for different events. Motion was seconded by Lou Wallace. Motion carried. Betsy will check into the t-shirts and caps.

Betsy Clark reported the need for early planning for the Spring Trail Ride. She suggested spending the first night on location, then riding the next day. Members agreed that this idea is better than riding for two days. Further plans will be discussed at the February meeting.

Plans for the October Expo and Tractor show were also discussed to help form a schedule od events, advertisement, media, who participates, etc. Allen Dyer expressed the need for committees to work on various projects for a well coordinated show. Members agreed. Other upcoming events were discussed.

Election of 2007 officers followed. Motion made by Clarence Kuhn, seconded by Jean Kuhn to elect James Clark as President. Motion carried.

Motion was made by Randy Allen, seconded by Jean Kuhn to re-elect R.L."Hopper" McGee as Vice President. Motion carried.

Motion was made by Jean Kuhn, seconded by Sue McGee to elect Mark Bishop as Secretary/Treasurer. Motion carried.

Allen Dyer made a motion to elect Betsy Clark for Public Relations Director. She was elected by acclamation.

Hopper McGee made a motion, seconded by James Clark to elect Danny Petersen as Events Director. Motion carried.

Sue McGee agreed to be in charge of supplies for the dinner mettings. Yvonne Downs offered to assist.

Clarence Kuhn made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Hopper McGee. Motion carried.

Allen Dyer dismissed with prayer.
