Welcome to Shreveport-Bossier, Louisiana’s Other Side! Relax, visit with GFWC friends, and discover the northwest part of our state. Arrive early and enjoy the outstanding city tour we have planned for you. GFWC of Louisiana is looking forward to hosting SCR for a weekend filled with GFWC information, entertainment by the Centenary College Choir, and loads of fun! On Sunday, wear pink and denim for the March of Dimes “Pink and Blue Jeans for Babies” breakfast. Shreveport City Tour and Lunch - 9:30am Friday, October 2
You will be picked up at your hotel by tour bus at 9:30am & taken through the historic streets of downtown Shreveport, which has the second largest collection of buildings in LA listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We will visit the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, built 1899, with 85 stained glass windows, the Municipal Auditorium, famous for the “Louisiana Hayride” radio program broadcast which launched careers of Elvis Presley, Hank Williams, Dolly Parton, and many others. Then, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by Chef Michael at Artspace before touring the R. W. Norton Art Gallery and Gardens, with 19 galleries and the largest permanent collections of Russell & Remington sculptures, & shopping LA Boardwalk
