SE DISTRICT

The 87th Annual GFWC OK SE District Convention was held in McAlester OK. The 13 members of the Cornerstone Creations Deparment handcrafted the table decorations and corsages along with dressing in turn of the 20th Century clothing as we celebrated the Wilburton 20th Century Club's 100th Federated Club Anniversary.

Keynote Speaker was Michael Echelle, Health Department Director for three SEOK Counties. Michael explained the benefits of receiving the yearly flu innoculation. He also explained the process to avoid the H1N1 virus along with procedures to prepare for a possible pandemic.

Our "Done in a Day" project, lead by VP Inger Raunikar, created 22 bags filled with necessities for our "Save The Casa Kids" project. These children are usually removed from the abusive homes in the middle of the night and are ages 2-6 yrs old. Eddie Kelly, CASA SE District Director, explained what CASA does and the volunteer opportunities available for our members in SE District to participate in.

Elected incoming SE Dist officers for 2010-2012 were installed by GFWC OK President Norma Warnke assisted by Pres. Elect Joyce Ward.
