The sixty members of our club are volunteers in Pittsburg County. We have four departments within which we meet on a monthly basis. We have a Spring Banquet once a year to be sure we all know each other. We conduct business when needed and always have fun. Read about the departments below to see which one you would fit into.

McAlester Fortnightly, a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of Oklahoma (GFWC) and its members have enhanced the citizens and community of McAlester through their commitment to volunteer service programs for 114 years. GFWC members actively educate, advocate and engage in projects concerning the well-being of children since the early 1900s with prominent clubwomen such as Jane Addams and Julia Lathrop paving the way for the implementation of improved child labor and juvenile court laws. McAleser Fortnightly Club recognizes GFWC Advocates for April 2018 as Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Monthby donating their volunteer efforts and monetary donation to the Hope House, CASA, Youth Emergency Shelter and Domestic Violence Shelter in our area. GFWC McAlester Fortnightly participates in the GFWC Signature Project, Domestic Abuse Awareness and Prevention in our community.
Tina Adams & Terry Yates
Terry Yates, Cornerstone Creations Treasurer, organized the members' 7th yearly donation to Tina Adams at Hope House, the homeless shelter for eight women and their young children.
Pajamas or night shirts along with socks, slippers & toiletry items were wrapped and delivered. In addition, each child received a book or toy.
