Registration and Medical Forms Due

Those who are going to Day Camp need to get their medical and registration forms turned in by the next Pack Meeting on May 19th.

If you are going to Resident Camp, the fee has to be paid by May 12th to get the early registration discount. See your den leader for early registration due dates.

Summer Resident Camp

Spring is here and before you know it, it will be Summer. Cub Scout Resident camp sessions start in June. The cost for 2008 Camp George Thomas resident camp is $90 per Scout and $50 per Adult. The fees include meals, program supplies, t-shirt, camp support and a patch.

Session dates, forms and information can be found on the Last Frontier Council's Web site. Check with your den leader about a date for your den to attend together.

Summer Day Camp

Day camp for the Will Rogers District is set for June 16-20th at Camp Kickapoo. This year's theme is "Cub Scout Safari." Safari activities will include games, crafts, sports, and educational activities. Opportunities to do BB guns and archery will also be available.

The cost is $55 with a $10 discount if your group registers two weeks prior to the camp opening date. All attending will be required to fill out a medical form just in case of an emergency. Parents attending will be required to purchase a T-shirt for $10-12. All parents that attend must wear the T-shirt.

Kyle won the District Pinewood Derby. He received his trophy at a school assembly in April. Way to go!

Cub Scouting

Cub Scouting means "doing." Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things. Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack. The most important are the weekly den meetings and the monthly pack meetings.

Apart from the fun and excitement of Cub Scout activities, the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack, and the Cub Scout sign, handshake, motto, and salute all teach good citizenship and contribute to a boy's sense of belonging. Information from www.Scouting.org 4 April 2008.
