MCHS Spelling Bee has supported and actively participated in the annual Kiamichi Owa-Chito Festival at Beavers Bend State Park since 1975. The festival began in 1973. In addition the society has sponsored the Owa-Chito Spelling Bee each year along with sponsorship from Idabel Rotary Club in past years.

2011 Owa-Chito Spelling Bee will be held at the Forest Heritage Center Plaza at 10:00 A.M. Saturday June 18, 2011 in beautiful Beaver's Bend Park, Broken Bow, McCurtain County, OK.

Plaques awarded to Champions and Runners-up in each 3 divisions.
