Our Scout Dens (groups of 4-8 boys in the same grade and working on the same program level) generally met as Dens three weeks each month.
Our monthly pack gathering, for all of the Pack 271 Dens and their family memmbers, generally took place on a Monday of each month at 7:15 p.m. in the cafeteria when school was in session.
Thanks to the active outdoor program in Last Frontier Council, Pack 271 Scouts and their families had several camping opportunities each year. The camp opportunities included a week of day camp, usually at Camp Kickapoo, and our choice of overnight camping from any of several one-half week sessions in June at resident camp each summer. The resident Camp sessions were conducted at Camp George Thomas.
We also had a number of exciting family camping opportunities each September and October at Camp Kickapoo and Camp George Thomas.
