People-to-people exchanges are at the heart of The Friendship Force experience. Our club has visited and/or hosted clubs from New Zealand, Brazil, Ottowa, Georgia, and Tennessee in the past few years. In 2008 our outgoing international exchange was with Germany; the Australians came to visit and we hosted, and were visited by, Iowa and Illinois during domestic exchanges.

Belo Horizonte FF members gave us a warm welcome, April, 2007. Brazilian hospitality is legendary. Members of our club spent two weeks in Brazil learning about the culture, language, customs, food, and international friendships. A highlight of this visit was our trip to Ouro Preto, a charming colonial city of many elegant churches and the Museum of Mineralogy. Some of us were fortunate to reconnect with folks who had been hosted in Portland the previous year.

Nineteen ambassadors from Horowhenua, New Zealand visited in August, 2007. Aurora, Oregon was an interesting stop for some of them. Other club activities included touring the Pearson Air Museum, a picnic at the Rauch home in Battle Ground and the farewell dinner at the Rheinlander German Restaurant in Portland.
