Chapter History The Willamette Chapter was chartered with 16 members on March 8, 1962, when the organization was named National Secretaries Association (NSA). The charter members were: Marcella Betts, Sue M. Cassidy, Charlotte Cox, Mary J. Dain, Sharlene J. Harrington, JoAnne A. Harrison, Della M. Hickey, Fillee Horton, Theresa Littler, Marilyn Martin, Mary M. Masters, Evelyn Schwab, Marjorie E. Smith, Doris C. Van Buren, Harriette L. Westfall and Carol. G. Wilkinson.
Their chapter officers were: President Marilyn Martin, 1st Vice President Della Hickey, 2nd Vice President Mary Masters, Secretary Betty Davies, and Treasurer Evelyn Schwab.
National Secretaries Association (NSA) was formed in 1942, to provide a network for secretarial staff. In 1981, the organization voted to change their name to Professional Secretaries International (PSI). In August 1998, the organization name changed once again to International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP).
