All meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month and at the Albany City Hall, 333 Broadalbin Street SW, Albany and lunch is brown bag unless otherwise indicated.

    • January 12, 2012--Public Speaking and Presentations by Tari Hayes, CAP-OM and Gina Burrese.

      Tari and Gina will demonstrate how to make a memorable presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint that can be used both in business and at home. This meeting is being held in the Calapooia Room (1st floor).

    • February 9, 2012--How to Proofread and Edit Like an Expert! by Diana Eiler, CAP-OM

      Are you an expert editor? Diana will provide an interactive and interesting presentation that will help you become an expert editor.

    • March 8, 2012--Willamette Chapter's 50th Anniversary Celebration! Don't miss it! We'll invite all current and former members to celebrate our chapter's anniversary. We'll also nominate next year's chapter officers at this event.

    • April 12, 2012--Meeting/Chapter Elections

    • April 26, 2012--Administrative Professionals' Week Seminar, Linn-Benton Community College.

    • May 10, 2012--Professional Work Portfolio by Diana Eiler, CAP-OM

      Diana will demonstrate how to put together your professional work portfolio. This portfolio is a wonderful resource to have ready for your annual review. For those job seeking, this portfolio is an impressive addition when interviewing and can showcase your expertise as an administrative professional!

    • June 14, 2012--Picnic and Installation of Officers

    • December 1, 2011--Christmas Social, Yaquina Bay Restaurant, Albany. Bring a wrapped gift to exchange, no more than $10 in value.
    • November 10, 2011--Grant Writing 101 - How to Get Your Brilliant Idea Funded! by Kluane Baer - Spirit Mountain Community Fund, Small Grants Program/Oregon Tribal Grant Program Assistant. Meeting will be held at the Santiam Conference Room.

      Kluane will share the tips on how to write successful grant proposals. Come with your list of questions!

    • October 13, 2011--Making the Leap to Remarkable! by Jo Ann Yonemura, Membership Chair and Past President

      You'll learn tips on how to network with your peers, ideas on professional development and learn how you can gain the respect that you deserve by becoming a Certified Administrative Professional (CAP). Free soup and salad lunch - invite your friends and co-workers to this event! Please RSVP to Tari Hayes at tari.hayes@cityofalbany.net by October 10.

    • September 8, 2011--Roundtable: Work/Life Balance Challenges, held at Pizza King, 231 Lyon St S, Albany.

      Striking a balance between professional and personal commitments is a common dilemma for many of today's administrative professionals. Lean staff levels and rising workloads require more hours on the job, making it difficult to juggle deadlines and dinner plans, presentations and trips to the gym, budgets and family vacations. Members, please bring five ideas to overcome challenges and struggles you face when balancing your home life with your work life.
