AOH Division # 5 Officer Joseph Friel # 6267 (Philadelphia) From four green fields aboard ships to the west, to the land of the free in the coal mines of sweat, to the steel mills raising the skyline afar, the policeman, the firefighter, the priest in the war, struggling peacefully we throw in our lot, some return to their homes, yet many have not.----WE are HIBERNIANS------------ OUR MOTTO: FRIENDSHIP, UNITY and CHRISTIAN CHARITY.--------------- MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATIONS: Be a male residing in the United Satates, Prove his Irish ancestry, Be a practicing Catholic, Be of good character, be not less than sixteen (16) years of age.---------------------------------------------------------DIVISION #5 WAS NAMED AFTER PHILADELPHIA POLICE OFFICER JOSEPH FRIEL WHO WORE THE BADGE NUMBER #6267, WHILE ASSIGNED TO THE 5th POLICE DISTRICT IN ROXBOROUGH ON JUNE 4th 1994. OFFICER FRIEL LAST TOUR OF DUTY WAS ON DECEMBER 4th 1994, KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY, WHILE PATROLLING THE STREETS OF PHILADELPHIA. DIVISION #5 MEMBERSHIP WAS CHARTERED ON NOVEMBER 17th 2005.

GENERAL MEETINGS General meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month, at CJ & ECK'S 384 Shurs Ln at Pechin St 2nd floor 8:00pm. No Meetings during the month of July & August. 2011 remaing meetings12/8. Scheduled meeting for (2012) 1/12, 2/9, 3/8, 4/12, 5/10, 6/14, (NO MEETINGS IN JULY OR AUGUST), 9/13, 10/11, 11/8, 12/13.

EVENTS
Events for March 2012, ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE will be held on Sunday March 11th, again we will be marching with AOH Div# 17, followed by after party at CJ & ECK"S Bar, all members are encouraged to march. Also Annual BEEF & BEER we are trying for the date of Saturday 3/31 again at IHM Hall, Tickets will be available during the month Of March, also members are required to particapate.

MEMBERSHIP DUES
2012 Membership dues are now being collected, $40.00 per member, also past dues are being collected. A.O.H. dues collected from every member every year pays our Division Per Capita to the National, State and County Boards. DUES CAN BE MADE BY CHECK TO AOH DIVISION #5 OR MAILED TO ADDRESS 4038 DEXTER ST, PHILA, PA. 19128.

UP-COMING AOH EVENTS.
DURING THE MONTH OF March EVERY TUESDAY NIGHT CJ & ECK'S WILL BE HOSTING A FUND RAISER WILL BENEFIT AOH Div#5, Scholarship Fund. Included $5.00 cover charge reduce drinks special and more. Any members interested in GUEST BARTENDING let us know as soon as possible. ANNUAL BEEF & BEER WILL BE HELD IN MARCH (DATE TBD).

CONGRATS TO OUR SCHOLARSHIP AWARD WINNERS FOR 2011, FROM HOLY CHILD GRADE SCHOOL MICHAEL FAHRINGER ATTENDING 9TH GRADE AT ROMAN CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL AND FROM I.H.M. GRADE SCHOOL KELLIANNE HEIL ATTENDING 9TH GRADE AT BISHOP MCDEVITT HIGH SCHOOL. A JOB WELL DONE AND GOOD LUCK IN HIGH SCHOOL.
