The Beaver Valley Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals® was organized in October of 1948 and has been helping office professionals reach their career goals through education, community building and leadership development. The chapter meets the fourth Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. (unless otherwise indicated) at The Grand Valley Inn, New Brighton, for dinner and an educational program.

All administrative professionals are invited to attend. There is a $5 charge for the educational portion of the meeting for those who do not attend the dinner portion of the meeting.

What is IAAP®?

The International Association for Administrative Professionals (IAAP®) is a not-for-profit professional association with nearly 600 chapters and 28,000 members and affiliates worldwide. The association works in partnership with employers to promote excellence. Its members include administrative assistants, executive secretaries, office coordinators, information specialists, and related administrative professionals. Many corporations, educational institutions, students, and international affiliate organizations also belong to IAAP®.

Fast Facts About Certification:IAAP offers two professional ratings for office professionals: The Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) and the Organizational Management (OM). The CAP rating is the industry recognized standard of proficiency. Candidates may take both exams the same day or elect to take only the CAP exam and take the OM exam at a later date.
The exams are administered the first Saturday of May and November each year at over 250 locations. For more information on the certifications, see "Links Section"
