06/01/2007,1616 hours, Engine 19 and Truck 22(Liberty Hose #2 of Lykens) dispatched to 127 Sheetz Road,Wayne Twp, for a man stuck 30' in the air in a bucket truck. Upon response of Chief 19 and Truck 22, County advised the man had got down safely. Box in service at 1624 hours.
06/09/2007,0040 hours, Co. 19 dispatched for a reported vehicle fire in the area of Powells Valley Road and Radel Road. Chief 19 responded at 0045 and Engine 19-1 responded with three at 0046. Arrived on scene at 0050 and found a dodge pickup truck with a flat tire and a broken oil line with a hot brake hub. Units available at 0054. 06/17/2007,0604 hours, Co.19 and Engine-Rescue 29-1 dispatched for an auto accident with rollover at 1835 Powells Valley Road. Chief 19 responded and was advised by Dauphin County that PSP was enroute with an extended ETA. C19 arrived onscene and E29-1 held in quarters as no occupants were found. E19 and E29-1 placed in service. Fire-police controlled traffic for PSP and the towing service. Units available at 0728.
12/16/2007,0650 hours, Co. 19 dispatched for trees and wires down in the area of Powells Valley and Carsonville Roads. This was just the beginning of several trees and wires calls for the day. Company 19 responded and assisted Jefferson Township with cutting up and removing several trees down throughout the Township. Most of the area was without power all day. As this is being updated, many residents are still without power due to the ice and snow storm that swept the central PA area.Units finally cleared at 1600 hours.
01/02/2008 County paged Chief to call in. Dispatcher said he had a lost hunter on the phone somewhere in the township. He patched the hunter in with the Chief and the hunter explained where he parked his car and where he was standing. Gave him directions back to his car. A passer-by stopped and gave him a ride back to his car. Alls well that ends well!!
1/10/2008,1807 hours, Co. 19 and Engine-Rescue 29-1 dispatched for an auto accident with rollover at 75 Small Valley Rd. Chief 19 responded to find a single vehicle that had hit a tree. Patient had self extricated and had a laceration to the forehead. Engine 19-1 arrived and set up lighting and began patient care. Engine 29-1 arrived along with EMS company 6. Both engine crews that secured the battery and controlled fluids. Units cleared 1848 hours.
1/29/2008, 0859 hours, E19 dispatched to assist at an auto accident on Rt. 325 in Clarks Valley. Engine 19 placed in service. Fire-Police assisted Dauphin Fire Co. EMS units were a commodity on this day due to the nasty snow/ice storm.Units cleared 1110 hours.
2/22/2008,approx. 1805 hours, Co. 19 and Engine-Rescue 29-1 dispatched for an auto accident with rollover and entrapment at Powells Valley Rd. in the area of Radel Road. Chief 19-1 responded as well as E19 at approx. 1808. Arrived onscene to find a single vehicle that had rolled over into a field. Extremely icy conditions were found due to temps in the 20's and freezing rain falling. Two Life Team employees on their way to work had stopped and assisted in extricating the two occupants who were unhurt. E19 arrived and secured the battery on the vehicle which was laying on its side. Traffic was controlled and the scene was secured. Released by PSP, units returned approx. 1855 hours.
6/27/08 1635 hours, Co. 19 dispatched to a house struck by lightning at 3776 Powells Valley Road. Engine 19 responded with 3 personnel at 1643. Arrived at 1648 and checked the structure with the TIC.Held to Engine 19. No fire involved.While this was happening;
6/27/08 1726 hours, a female walked in to the station and asked us to check her boyfriend out "just down the road". He had been burned on the hands. Engine 19-1 responded with 3 onboard and arrived at 1726. Found a male patient with burns to both hands. Called for EMS and stabilized the patient until they arrived. Both engines available from both calls at 1808.
6/28/08 1635 hours,Co. 19 and Engine-Rescue 29-1 dispatched for an auto accident involving a motorcycle "2-3 miles outside of Carsonville toward State Game Lands". Both Engines responded and arrived to find a male patient with abrasions to his arms and complaining of chest pain. BLS and ALS arrived the same time as the engines and handled patient care. Both companies available at 1700.
6/28/08 1820 hours,Co. 19 and Engine-Rescue 23 dispatched for an auto accident with rollover. 3 patients to be out of the vehicle. E23 responded at 1824, and E19 responded at 1826. Both engines arrived at 1832 and 1833, respectively. E23 personnel performed patient care with members from both companies controlling traffic and checking the vehicle for fluids and stabilization.Patients transported by Ambulance Co. 6. E23 cleared at 1902 and Co. 19 at 1942.
7/1/08 1758 hours, OIC call at 4200 Powells Valley Road for trees on wires. PP&L notified. Available at 1800 hours.
