1/10/2008,1807 hours,Box 19-3, Co. 19 and Engine-Rescue 29-1 dispatched for an auto accident with rollover at 75 Small Valley Rd. Chief 19 responded to find a single vehicle that had hit a tree. Patient had self extricated and had a laceration to the forehead. Engine 19-1 arrived and set up lighting and began patient care. Engine 29-1 arrived along with EMS company 6. Both engine crews that secured the battery and controlled fluids. Units cleared 1848 hours.
1/29/2008, 0859 hours,Box 66-4, E19 dispatched to assist at an auto accident on Rt. 325 in Clarks Valley. Engine 19 placed in service. Fire-Police assisted Dauphin Fire Co. EMS units were a commodity on this day due to the nasty snow/ice storm.Units cleared 1110 hours.
2/22/2008,approx. 1805 hours,Box 19-3, Co. 19 and Engine-Rescue 29-1 dispatched for an auto accident with rollover and entrapment at Powells Valley Rd. in the area of Radel Road. Chief 19-1 responded as well as E19 at approx. 1808. Arrived onscene to find a single vehicle that had rolled over into a field. Extremely icy conditions were found due to temps in the 20's and freezing rain falling. Two Life Team employees on their way to work had stopped and assisted in extricating the two occupants who were unhurt. E19 arrived and secured the battery on the vehicle which was laying on its side. Traffic was controlled and the scene was secured. Released by PSP, units returned approx. 1855 hours.
6/27/08, 1635 hours,Box 19-1, Co. 19 dispatched to a house struck by lightning at 3776 Powells Valley Road. Engine 19 responded with 3 personnel at 1643. Arrived at 1648 and checked the structure with the TIC.Held to Engine 19. No fire involved.While this was happening;
6/27/08, 1726 hours,Box 19-1, a female walked in to the station and asked us to check her boyfriend out "just down the road". He had been burned on the hands. Engine 19-1 responded with 3 onboard and arrived at 1726. Found a male patient with burns to both hands. Called for EMS and stabilized the patient until they arrived. Both engines available from both calls at 1808.
6/28/08 ,1635 hours,Box 19-4,Co. 19 and Engine-Rescue 29-1 dispatched for an auto accident involving a motorcycle "2-3 miles outside of Carsonville toward State Game Lands". Both Engines responded and arrived to find a male patient with abrasions to his arms and complaining of chest pain. BLS and ALS arrived the same time as the engines and handled patient care. Both companies available at 1700.
6/28/08, 1820 hours,Box 19-4,Co. 19 and Engine-Rescue 23 dispatched for an auto accident with rollover. 3 patients to be out of the vehicle. E23 responded at 1824, and E19 responded at 1826. Both engines arrived at 1832 and 1833, respectively. E23 personnel performed patient care with members from both companies controlling traffic and checking the vehicle for fluids and stabilization.Patients transported by Ambulance Co. 6. E23 cleared at 1902 and Co. 19 at 1942.
7/1/08, 1758 hours,Box 19-1, OIC call at 4200 Powells Valley Road for trees on wires. PP&L notified. Available at 1800 hours.
10/7/08, Approximately 1538 hours,Box 19-3, Co. 19 dispatched to assist EMS on a pedestrian struck by a school bus on Small Valley Road. Approx. 1542 hours, Captain 19 arrived on the scene and requested Life Lion to fly due to head trauma and leg injury. Patient was transported to the LZ at Enders-Fisherville Elem. School where Engine 216 (Fisherville) had established the LZ. Patient flown to Hershey Med Center. Units cleared by 1641 hours.
11/06/08 At 21:40 hours, County dispatched for any available personnel from Companies 19, 216, and 29 to report to Station 19 to assist in a Search Detail. Once everyone had assembled at Station 19, we were briefed and then everyone moved up to 6487 Powell's Valley Road, at the Hand Board to begin the search into the State Game Lands #210. Personnel were split into 3 search teams, a staging group, along with 2 ATV's from Company 29,and one from company 19,entered the trails to begin the search. PSP, PSP Helicopter and the State Game Commission all assisted with the search. At 00:36 hours, the lost hunter was found by personnel from Ranger 1(ATV). The hunter was removed from the woods and examined by MICU 6-5 and was doing well. Units were out for a little under 4 hours. Excellant cooperation from all organizations involved (CVFC,HFD,FVFC,PGC,PSP,DEMA) brought this to a sucessful and happy ending.
11/25/08 At 08:22 hours,Box 19-1,Company 19 and Truck 22(Lykens), were dispatched for a reported chimney fire at 4611 Back Road in Jefferson Twp. Truck 22 arrived at 08:40 and Engine 19 at 08:45.Units found a completely blocked flue and opened it up. Advised owner to have it cleaned professionaly before using again.Units available 09:25.
11/28/08 At 12:58 hours,Box 19-1, Company 19 and Engine-Rescue 29-1 dispatched for an auto accident involving an ATV near 3386 Back Road in Jefferson Township. Engine 19 arrived at 13:06 to find a 15 y/o male that had flipped his ATV.E29-1 arrived at 13:14 and personnel provided basic first aid until arrival of Ambulance Co. 6.Units available 13:28.
1/25/09 At 1635 hours, Box 19-3, Company 19 and Brush 29 dispatched for a brush fire behind 126 Sheetz Road. B29 responded at 1638 and C19(Warfel) responded at 1640. C19 arrived in the area and reported the fire to be at 291 Dimpsey Rd.(Box 29-3) with 1/4 acre involved. Units arrived and kept the fire from spreading any further. Units available at 1720.
5/17/09 At 1732 hours,Box 19-3, Co. 19 and Engine-Rescue 29-1 dispatched for an ATV accident at 125 Oak Ridge Drive. Chief 19(Warfel) responded to find an ATV with two passengers over the embankment. Patient #1 had self extricated and patient #2 was still sitting on the ATV. Engine 19-1 arrived and began patient care. Engine 29-1 arrived along with EMS company 13 and 6. Engine 29-1 than handled the LZ for Life Lion for patient #2. Units cleared 1819 hours.
8/24/09 At 08:51 hours,Box 19-1,Company 19,Truck 22(Lykens),Company 216, were dispatched for a reported structure fire at 3673 Back Road in Jefferson Twp. From the caller, flames were visible, so Dauphin County upgraded the alarm, which added Company 21 and 29. Engine 19 arrived at 09:04.Units found a well involved trailor and began fire attack.Other units arrived shortly after. Control was made and units cleared the scene at 1204. The fire displaced two, and Red Cross is assisting.
