National Make a Blanket Day

Our chapter held our annual Make a Blanket Day on Feb. 21st at the west shore store of the Discount Vacuum and Sewing Center. As in previous years it was great fun and a real success. Although Deb and Bob Vasile were on vacation, we were assisted by Cindy Schultz and her friend Kathryn Otto.
Barb Biddle of Harrisburg was the winner of the BabyLock sewing machine. Barb also won the sewing machine at our last Blanket Day, so she generously allowed the machine to be presented to her friend and fellow quilter, Joan Babicz. Like Barb, Joan has joined us for our last 2 Blanket Days, and helps make blankets for us with her church group year round. We hope she will enjoy the machine.
We send many thanks to Bob and Deb for providing us with the space to hold our Make a Blanket Day, and for their generosity in donating the BabyLock machine for our event. Without their enthusiasm and publicity efforts on our behalf, our Blanket Day would not have been nearly as rewarding as it was. So many children will be receiving beautiful blankets as a result of the day, We appreciate your support and all the hard work by all who contributed blankets. We look forward to next year!
