"Providing Security with Blankets"
Project Linus is a charity that provides new, handmade blankets to critically ill and traumatized children. Since its inception in Nov 2002, the Cumberland / Dauphin Chapter has distributed blankets to comfort children in the Harrisburg and surrounding areas. We deliver new handmade blankets that are sewn, quilted, knitted or crocheted. They must be washable and in child friendly colors and/or patterns.

This spring we received 11 tied fleece blankets made by Brownie Troop 650. They are a group of 40 little girls who meet regularly at the Good Shepherd School in Camp Hill. This effort was organized by Mairead Mumford, a junior at Trinity High School, as her service project for school. The blankets are beautifully made, and will give comfort to the children who receive them. We greatly appreciate their time and enthusiasm.
Project Linus
is a volunteer non-profit organization.
Our mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers".
