THE SOCIETY FOR PENNSYLVANIA ARCHAEOLOGY 80TH ANNUAL MEETING
APRIL 3-5, 2009 in HARRISBURG, PA
The meeting and all events will be held in the State Museum of
Pennsylvania.
The Comfort Inn on Front Street in Harrisburg has been
selected as the hotel for the conference.
They are offering a special
rate of $79 per night and parking is free.
Reservations can be made by
calling 717-233-1611.
Identify yourself as being with the Society for
Pennsylvania Archaeology.
The rate is in effect until March 20, 2009.
The hotel is six blocks from the State Museum.
The banquet speaker will
be Bruce Bomberger, Curator, Landis Valley Museum.
He will speak on the
French and Indian War Forts of Pennsylvania.
CALL FOR PAPERS
The theme of the 80th annual meeting will be "The Archaeology of Penn's
Woods".
SPA registrants are invited to attend the PAC symposium on
Friday afternoon.
This year’s PAC theme will be the Archaeology of
the Terminal Archaic/Transitional Period.
There will be three open
sessions, Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
Anyone wishing to participate should send abstracts of 150 words or
fewer to the Program Chair by March 1, 2009.
Note that all presenters
at the Annual Meeting must be members of SPA for 2009 and be
pre-registered for the meeting.
SPA membership does not include meeting
registration.
