Events
Raingutter RegattaThis is an event where the scout (with a little help from a parent) builds a regatta boat(from a kit) in order to race down a (house) gutter, filled with water. Scouts will blow there boats down the gutters to see who gets to the finish line first.
Pinewood DerbyIn this event, the scout (with a little help from a parent) will build a pinewood derby car (from a kit) in order to race down a track.
Cub RallyThis is another race, but this time it is raced with mini wooden go carts that are powered by scouts. One scout steers the wheel, while two other scouts push the car. This (of course)is required of the scouts to wear bicycle helmets.
Beaver WeekendThis event is a camping overnighter at Trexler Scout Reservation and Camp Minsi. It is a weekend for working at the camps to help clean-up and perform duties such as building new sheds, straightening up paths, putting up camp tents, etc... After the work is completed (usually takes 4 hours or so), the scouts get to have fun with bb guns, archery, dutch oven cooking or whatever Minsi Trails Council comes up with. This of course is all supervised by the Trexler (certified) staff at camp. The scouts always have a blast at this event! |
