History of the Department
The Falls Creek Volunteer Fire Department was established on July 29,1895 and the first offical meeting was held on August 12,1895. The department purchased their first fire trucks, two chemical engines, on September 30,1895 from S. Reynolds of Reynoldsville for one hundered dollars. The first uniforms for the department were purchased on May 3,1929. On November 10,1939 the department purchased their first fire station which was the old Anderson Building for one hundered eight dollars from the borough of Falls Creek. The first real fire school was created and attended on January 22,1942. Then on February 13,1950 the department joined the Jefferson County Fire Association. On January 13,1964 the department agreed to attended and serve as fire rescue at Hummingbird Motor Speedway for the first time. The department agreed to add Brockway and Warsaw to the list of stations in which the department would assist, Reynoldsville was already added. Then on September 1, 1986 Jefferson County Control announced that each station would be assigned station and equipment numbers (Falls Creek Fire Deprtment became Station 4). The first pagers were purchased on March 23, 1987. On March 27, 1989 the Borough of Falls Creek and Washington Township appointed department member Ed Burtop Forest Fire Warden in the area. Then in April of 1993 the department started a Quick Response Service(QRS). Finally in 2004 the Falls Creek Fire Department moved to its current location on First Street off Main Street in downtown Falls Creek. Today the department is one of the busiest stations in all of Jefferson County.

The department serves as the fire-rescue service, and we also sell 50-50 tickets which usally ranges from $300-$800, we also sell different kinds of raffel tickets to try and raise money. Also we have donation jars at each consession stand, and we have the firemans boot right inside the gate where you can donate.
 Coverage Area
The Department covers a lot of area mainly Washington Township and I-80 from the 89 to the 97 milemarker. We also serve as mutual aid for Brockway Co.1, Reynoldsville Co.6, and Warsaw Co.15 in Jefferson County. Sometimes we are also called to assist Treasure Lake Co.35 and Adrian Co.38 in Sandy Township.

The Fireman's Prayer
When I am called to duty God wherever flames may rage, give me the strength to save some life whatever be its age. Help me embrace a little child before it is too late, or save an older person from the horror of that fate. Enable me to be alert and hear the weakest shout, and quickly and efficiently to put the fire out. I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me, to guard my every neighbor and protect his property. And if according to your will I have to lose my life, please bless with your protecting hand my children and my wife.
