The Halifax Area Ambulance and Rescue Association, Inc. mails out subscriptions to all box holders within our response district every May-June. The subscriptions take effect on July 1 of that year and expire on June 30 of the following year.
Subscription rates include transportation within a fifty-mile radius for emergency transfers. For any transfers beyond the fifty-mile radius there will be an additional charge of $10.00 per loaded mile in addition to any charges for equipment, supplies and/or special services.
Interhospital and non-emergency transports will no longer be provided by this association. All service is contingent on the availability of personnel and equipment.
Our Coverage Area: Halifax Ambulance is first due in Halifax Borough, Halifax Township, parts of Jackson Township and Reed Township to the Clarks Ferry Bridge. Our ambulance would be dispatched second due in parts of Jackson Township, Jefferson Township, Millersburg Borough, parts of Upper Paxton Township, and Wayne Township if the first due ambulances(s) were on calls.
Listed below are the types of subscriptions that we offer. Please read them carefully and select the one that best suits your needs and the needs of your family.
FAMILY SUBSCRIPTIONS: This includes unlimited emergency transfers per fiscal year.
A Family subscription includes you, your spouse and any dependent children or grandchildren who are under the age of 18 at the beginning of the fiscal year of the subscriptions. Full-time students ages 18-23 may be included with the family subscriptions for an additional charge of $10.00 per student per fiscal year.
INDIVIDUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS: This includes unlimited emergency transfers per fiscal year.
SENIOR CITIZENS SUBSCRIPTIONS: A senior citizen subscriptions is for any person, you or your spouse, who is age 55 or older at the beginning of the fiscal year of the subscriptions. This includes unlimited emergency transfers per fiscal year.
COST:
Family Subscriptions - $40.00
Individual Subscriptions - $30.00
Full-Time Student, age 18-23 with Family - $10.00
Senior Citizen Family - $35.00
Senior Citizen Individual - $25.00

INSURANCE: Medical insurance sometimes provides coverage for ambulance transfers. Therefore, HAARA, Inc. reserves the right to submit an invoice to your insurance company for any service rendered. Our ability to invoice your insurance carrier, even though you may be a subscriber, helps to offset the high cost of providing ambulance service to our community.
BUSINESS SUBSCRIPTIONS
We depend upon subscriptions and donations to purchase and maintain vehicles, equipment/supplies, the association's building and to pay personnel. WE DO NOT RECEIVE ANY FUNDING FROM ANY LOCAL FIRE TAXES.
In order to increase our subscriptions revenues, we are offering subscriptions to the area business. Business subscriptions will include coverage for all employees while at work and when traveling to and from work with in the Association's primary response area. This includes Halifax Borough, Halifax Township, parts of Jackson Township, and Reed Township to the Clarks Ferry Bridge. Coverage will be for unlimited emergency transports per fiscal year beginning July 1 through June 30 of the next year.
All service is contingent on our availability of personnel and equipment. We reserve the right to submit an invoice to your insurance company for any service rendered.
The cost of the subscriptions is based on the number of employees as follows:
1-10 employees - $50.00
11-30 employees - $75.00
31-50 employees - $100.00
51-100 employees - $125.00
101-200 employees - $150.00
200 + employees - $175.00
