The Halifax Area Ambulance and Rescue Association, Inc. DOES NOT receive local fire tax. Fire tax is paid only to the the local fire company and it does not apply to us. We rely on fundraisers, donations, building rentals and service fees for our money. That is why it is important to support your local ambulance company. Please make it a point to support your local ambulance company.

Support your community and become a volunteer or paid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Volunteerism has taken a nosedive in the last 10 years. Several ambulance companies that were once all volunteer now rely on a paid system for crews to respond on 911 calls.
