Mission & Values Statements

The mission of HAARA is to provide outstanding emergency medical services and patient transportation services. We provide these services in a professional manner while maintaining the dignity of those we serve. Our members continuously strive to learn, improve and grow in enhancing the delivery of emergency medical services to those we serve.

HAARA adheres to the following values:

Commitment to Service

We treat persons with illness and injury in our community with care and compassion, utilizing effective principles and practices of patient care, and we strive for excellence through ongoing evaluation and improvement.

Respect

We recognize the dignity of others and communicate with others in a respectful manner.

Integrity

We serve with honesty, loyalty and dedication.

Accountability

We are responsible for our actions, both positive and negative.

Teamwork

We practice teamwork through communication and cooperation to achieve common goals.

Fair Treatment

We do not discriminate against patients or personnel on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex, age, disability, political belief, military service, or any other legally protected characteristic.

ATTENTION!! Important Information!
The Halifax Area Ambulance and Rescue Association, Inc. DOES NOT receive local fire tax. Fire tax is paid only to the the local fire company and it does not apply to us. We rely on fundraisers, donations, building rentals and service fees for our money. That is why it is important to support your local ambulance company. Please make it a point to support your local ambulance company.

Support your community and become a volunteer or paid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Volunteerism has taken a nosedive in the last 10 years. Several ambulance companies that were once all volunteer now rely on a paid system for crews to respond on 911 calls. If you would like more information about how to become an EMT and courses in your area, visit the Harrisburg Area Community College website on our links page.
