CRITERIA FOR REIMBURSEMENT REQUEST

FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES

WHITE ROSE CHAPTER, IAAPâ

 

 

A.    Applicant must have been a member of White Rose Chapter, IAAPâ for at least one (1) year prior to making application for the professional development grant.

 

B.      Applicant must retain her membership in the White Rose Chapter, IAAPâ for two (2) years after receiving the grant or the funds that were provided for the professional development activity will become a re-payable loan upon resignation.

 

C.     During the current fiscal year, one thousand dollars ($1,000) will be available to the membership for professional development activities.

 

D.    Applications are to be submitted to the Professional Development Committee by December 1.  (This date may be determined and extended by the Professional Development Committee).  The applicants will be asked to provide the following:

 

1.      Name of Activity (e.g. CPS/CAP review courses and/or application fees; CEUs, seminars, college courses, job related training, registration fee for PA Division Meeting, International Convention and Educational Forum, Northeast District Conference, and CPS Seminar)

2.      Date and Location

3.      Sponsoring Agency

4.      Total Cost (including registration, tuition, textbooks, materials, fees and whether any portion of this cost is being paid by employers, other grants, scholarships, etc.)

5.      Reasons for participation in the professional development activity.

 

E.      No more than one-half (1/2) of the total cost of the activity will be granted.  Depending upon the number of requests received in September, members will be considered for up to a maximum of $250 toward their professional development activities in any given year.  (The year is considered from September to August).

 

F.      After the initial grants are approved, if funds remain in the Professional Development budget, additional applications will be considered throughout the year and will be evaluated in the order in which they are received.

 

G.     Upon completion of the professional development activity, the applicant must provide proof of completion (must have attended 80% of the class(es) and/or received a passing grade (does not apply to CPS exam/CAP exam) as well as a receipt showing proof of payment.  The member will then be reimbursed for the total amount of the award that was approved.

 

H.    No grants will be approved for activities that are funded in total by employers, scholarships, or other grants.

 

I.        Applicants applying to take the CPS/CAP examination are limited to making application for a grant twice in a five-year period.
