Are you an Administrative Professional?

The International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) defines an administrative professional as an individual who possesses a mastery of office skills, demonstrates the ability to assume responsibility without direct supervision, exercises initiative and judgment, and makes decisions within the scope of assigned authority.

IAAP is the world's largest association for administrative support staff with nearly 700 chapters and 40,000 members and affiliates worldwide. There are over 30 Chapters in Pennsylvania.

The White Rose Chapter was organized in November of 1947 with 54 charter members. We currently have 30 members from various companies located in York and Adams counties.

Monthly business meetings are scheduled September through June, usually on the third Wednesday of each month, and include dinner, an educational program and a brief business meeting. Advanced reservations are required.

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION

The Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) and Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) ratings are the internationally recognized standard of proficiency as an administrative professional.

The rating is obtained by completing and verifying education and employment experience requirements, and passing a four-part, two-day examination on the following areas:

• finance and business law,
• office systems and administration,
• management and organizational planning.
