The Irish Repertory Theatre of Philadelphia was founded in the spring of 2003. Our object is to celebrate and promote Irish and Irish-American culture through the dramatic and performing arts. The Theatre intends to present classic Irish dramatic works from the pens of such acclaimed playwrights as J.M. Synge, Lady Gregory, Brian Friel, W.B. Yeats, Samuel Beckett and others along with important recent works of drama written by a new generation of talented Irish and Irish-American playwrights, and often accompanied by Irish music and dance.
