 CODE OF CONDUCT
As we begin the 2009 season on July 20, with preseason practices leading into the regular season, it is important for everyone to understand some very basic rules which we all must adhere to.
While these rules of conduct comply with the All-County Conference rules, and our By-laws,the following is a brief outline for parents, spectators, and guests to follow while visiting during practices or games.
Failure to comply with these rules, however, may result in the suspension or termination of a parent, spectator, or guest's right to attend practices and/or games.
COMMITMENT
Being part of a team requires a great commitment from everyone involved.
As a part of this commitment, both parents and participants must understand and be willing to adhere to the following
- Football players and cheerleaders should arive on time and be prepared to practice or play.
- Practice begins July 20th,and are held four nights a week until school starts. After school starts, practices are held three nights a week. ADDITIONAL PRACTICES MAY BE HELD AT THE COACH'S DISCRETION
- Games begin on August 15th, 2009-with one game every weekend through the end of October.
- Football players and cheerleaders should attend EVERY
practice, game, and competeition. There are NO excused absences unless a medical note is provided.
CONDUCT AT PRACTICES:(Please Read CAREFULLY)
- No one is allowed on the practice field unless they are a coach, staff member, player, or board member. There are designated areas for spectators.
- All children required to use inhalers must have the correct prescribed type of inhaler in the possession of their coach at all practices. We will expect parents to give the team's coach the appropriate inhaler to keep for the season.
- Parents or spectators are not allowed to interrupt practices or games expecting to talk with the coaching staff. All concerns must be directed to the football or cheerleading director, who will approach the staff in the event that the concern requires immediate attention. All conversations with the coaching staff are to be reserved for after practices or games.(Conversations before practices or games will be at the coach's discretion)
- Being a coach is not a paid position. Jr. Buckhorn coaches volunteer numerous hours planning and coordinating games and practices, as well as working full-time jobs and having families of their own.
- Food or soft drinks given to players by spectators/parents will NOT be allowed during practices or games. Water breaks given by the coaching staff will be for water and Gatorade only.
- ALL parents must remain on the sidelines or in the stands at practices and games at ALL times.Parents should never approach coaches on the field. Should the need arise for a parent to speak to a coach, phone numbers will be provided, or arrangements will be made for a meeting after practice, after coaches have dismissed all team members.
- ALL parents, players, and cheerleaders are required to be respectful of each other, all coaches, all other teams, and game officals. Fighting between parents, players, and cheerleaders or coaches WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
Booing the opposing team is unacceptable- They are children too.
CONDUCT DURING GAMES
