Charities & Scholarships The Mason-Dixon Lodge #2669 raises funds for national, state and local charities. Our goal is to give back to the community in which we live, through monetary donations, time volunteered and promotion of the various charities we support. Our members are dedicated to these efforts. On a local level we raise funds for the Alzheimer Association, Cooley’s Anemia Foundation and other local organizations. The Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania leads all other state lodges in fund raising. In the field of birth defects, the Pennsylvania lodges have raised over $750,000 annually and also raised $420,000 to assist in rebuilding parts of Southern Italy after the disastrous earthquake in 1980. In addition, thousands of dollars have been raised, annually, for the following charities:
The local Order Sons of Italy Lodge awards scholarships to high school seniors. The number of scholarships and amount of each scholarship depends on the amount of money generated during the scholarships fund raising events. Historically two to three scholarships are awarded each year. Students must apply for the scholarship. Applications are distributed each spring to all the local high schools. If you are interested in an application, and your local high school does not have any, please contact us and we will make sure you are sent an application. Theresa DiPaula and Lou Marzullo serve as contacts for scholarships that are awarded by the Mason-Dixon Lodge. They may be contacted via email by clicking on their names which are listed on the Members List. Local high school students may download and print a copy of the Mason-Dixon Lodge's 2008 scholarship guidelines and an application here. MS Word file
