Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The winter is coming to a close (I hope) and spring is around the corner. We are in the middle of accepting applications for our annual scholarship award. A number have arrived already and I am sure there will be many more. We have had an unbelievable response over the last couple of years. We are all glad to see the recognition of the Lodge in the community.
March 2011 is a big month for the Lodge. We will be conducting elections of officers for the term of March 2011 until March 2013, a two year period. In a time where most volunteer organizations are dropping in membership or closing up, we have maintained our level of members. Please try and attend the March 22, 2011 meeting and vote for your next round of officers.
Our activities for the upcoming year are the Scholarship Award, Alzheimer’s Fund Raiser, Pennsylvania State Convention, Social Dinners, Lodge Picnic, Spaghetti Dinner Scholarship Fund Raiser and the Lodge Christmas Party. Along with two District meetings and the activities of the other Lodges in our District, there is always something to do. The other lodges in the district hold activities to which we are always invited. It seems that all District meetings are going to be held in the Harrisburg area and everyone is invited to attend. Please watch the activities schedule on the website for dates, times and locations.
I have been told that Neumann Hall is getting air conditioning installed. So, it looks like we have a permanent home, even through the hot summer months. I will be updating the activities schedule to reflect that from now on, all monthly meetings will be held in St. John the Baptist’s Neumann Hall.
May God bless you all in these difficult times and remember, you do have brothers and sisters out there willing to help if you just ask. I know personally, that the kindness and friendship in this Lodge runs deeper than you can believe. I thank the Lord for allowing me to experience the relationships generated from this Lodge.
