THE LUTHERAN EVANGELICAL PROTESTANT CHURCH, GCPEC

Welcome to the Online home of the LEPC Synod for "The Palmetto State" of South Carolina. Located on the east coast of the USA, South Carolina is blessed with mountains, seashores, lakes and rivers,"smiling faces and beautiful places." The Port of Charleston, SC was historically one of the first landings for EPC Lutherans in the 1700s.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

"His Message, His Ministry to His World"

We unashamedly believe in God the Father; Jesus Christ, His Son, as our Lord and Saviour; the Holy Spirit as our Comforter and Guide; and, the authority of Holy Scripture in matters of Faith and Practice. We stand firmly for Biblical morality. "Where the Scriptures speak, we speak; where the Scriptures are silent, we are silent."

"Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."

MISSION OF THE LUTHERAN EVANGELICAL PROTESTANT CHURCH

Go ye therefore into all the world;preach the gospel unto every one;Teach all nations to observe all things I have commanded you.Baptize them in the Father's name,in the Holy Spirit's and the Son's;Lo, I shall be with you to the end;lo, I am with you alway.Matt.28:19-20

Whatever you do for the least of these my brothers, you do it to me. Matthew 25:40

Our mission is to provide a denominational home for evangelical Christians. Many churches have deviated from Biblical truths about God, Jesus and the Bible. The gender of God is debated; the divinity of Jesus is questioned and the authority of the Bible is challenged.

The Lutheran Evangelical Protestant Church provides Administrative and Spiritual leadership for the Church through the Presiding Bishop, Executive Bishop,Executive Board, Board of Advisors and Regional Synod Bishops.

HISTORY AND PURPOSE

The modern history of the Lutheran Evangelical Protestant Church began in 1912. Our history can be traced to the Evangelical Protestant Church of North America and the Evangelical Protestant Conference of Congregational Churches. Our roots are in the Evangelical Protestant Church (Lutheran). Our primary purpose is to reclaim the faith and practices of the historical Protestant tradition as instituted by Martin Luther, with the Scriptures as our primary guide.

AN INVITATION

We invite those individuals called by God to the Gospel ministry to unite with us. Ordination as an LEPC minister is available to all men and women called by God to the Gospel ministry who accept the LEPC Statement of Faith and Core Beliefs.

Click the link to the left of this home page to download a Credentials Application Packet.

In an effort to assist those who feel a calling into GOD'S service, the LEPC has established The Concordia Theologica Institute For Biblical Studies. The Institute provides the additional education needed to meet the requirements for Ordination by the Lutheran Evangelical Protestant Church.

Ministers from other evangelical bodies may be received by transfer providing they accept the LEPC Statement of Faith and Core Beliefs.

All churches planted by LEPC ministers will be a Lutheran Evangelical Protestant church registering with the Denomination. Established churches seeking Denominational affiliation are encouraged to contact us.

All transfer Ordination candidates must complete three courses through The Concordia Theologica Institute For Biblical Studies: "History of the LEPC," "Spiritual Gifts Index" and "Biblical Leadership.".

Candidates holding no credentials must meet the educational requirement, or may complete online coursework with Concordia Institute of Biblical studies or another accepted institution to meet LEPC requirements and be ordained in a ceremony by the "laying on of hands." There is no cost for the online coursework with Concordia for those who commit to serving in ministry with the GCEPC/LEPC. This coursework is not offered to the general public but is offered only for the sake of GCEPC/LEPC minister candidates seeking to meet our educational requirements.

Continued

Concordia Theologica courses are open free of charge for LEPC ordination candidates for ministry. Regional Bishops assist with the ordination ceremony. Ordination is by transfer or by the "laying on of hands" in a local ceremony.

Candidates for ordination may request ordination into Apostolic Succession.Through the Order of Corporate Reunion, a holy order established by Pope Pius in the late 1800's,(and recognized as valid by the Vatican today), the line of Apostolic Succession has been extended through the Lutheran Evangelical Protestant Church.

Apostolic Succession is the laying on of hands, one to another in an unbroken line of succession from the original Apostles down through history to today. This lineage is recognized by both Eastern(Orthodox) and Western(Roman)Catholic churches, as well as others.

Through these various lineages, The Lutheran Evangelical Protestant Church is in direct Apostolic Succession of St Peter, St James, St Mark, St Paul,St John and St Andrew.

Copies of the Apostolic Succession lineage of The Lutheran Evangelical Protestant Church are available upon serious and legitimate request by contacting our office.

All ordinations must be approved by the Executive Board and Board of Advisors and all credentials must come from the Synod Main Office.

We are incorporated as a non-profit 501-c-3 religious institution under the Evangelical Protestant Church(GCEPC)Inc.Our General Conference is in Cayce-West Columbia, South Carolina, USA.
