Managing our forest land - for Timber Wildlife and Future generations
The mission of our organization is to provide information and education to our membership concerning all aspects of private woodland ownership and
management.
We encourage our woodland owners to take an active roll in responsibly managing their woodlands.
We offer seminars, field trips, sharing sessions, and bulletins to keep our membership informed on topics of interest to woodlot owners and woodlot managers.
Our History
The Mercer County Woodland Owners Association is the product of a lengthy planning process by a steering committee of dedicated woodland owners. Forty-seven county woodland owners voted to adopt the bylaws presented by the steering committee on February 28, 1998. They elected nine directors and also approved an advisory board of natural resource management professionals.

Members in Action
MCWOA member John Scheafnocker presented "Portable Milling Operations" demonstration.
Pine logs from the adjoining woodlot were felled to provide scheduled thining for the woodlot. The WOOD MISER lifted and positioned the logs for processing with the aid of the hydrolic systems controlled at the operation pannel. The mill sawed logs into squared block and then cut in desired board width.
