The Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation has some of the research programs being conducted in Mercer County. MCWOA members share an active role in the programs polination program, seed collection, and propagation of new cross trees.
Mercer County Extension Office recently hosted a conference desccribing the program, research efforts and field trips to examine sites currently part of this study.
